Title: Digestive Enzymes
Post by: Lola on September 02, 2016, 08:24:05 AM
Lacy dog gets a probiotic once a day...Nutramax Proviable-DC Capsules Dog & Cat Supplement.

I've been doing some reading.  I'm ready to add digestive enzymes.  Any brand suggestions?  Something that would work for dogs AND cats would be a bonus.

I use this one:

Recommended to me by the owners of Food Fur Life, makers of EZcomplete.
I was told the cats should have a tiny amount with each meal, adding up to 1/4 capsule a day.

EZcomplete, of course already has the digestive enzymes in so I don't add it to those meals. The only one getting it right now is Mazy cat and I have started very slow with her, so far she's only getting a tiny bit, in her first breakfast meal.

I don't know, for dogs.

Barkly only gets the ones that are in their vitamins. They've changed the Vetriscience Canine Plus formula though, so once they're out of these, I'll have to do something else. I've just about decided that I'll do what the head of the co-op says do and use these, since she says they'll add everything they need:

Since Vlad had so many problems when he was diagnosed as an Addisonian, I started using these with him:

And of course the Apple Cider Vinegar since that helps digestion as well.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I'm still reading, and reading, and reading...

I haven't used this yet, but I did lots of research and this looks like a really good one. Good reviews as well.  :)

I nixed the Marcola one, but I don't remember why now...or if I had a reason why.  lol  I read so much info about what to look (and what to avoid) in a good digestive enzyme... my head hurt.
I finally decided on this one:  http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/products/Only-Natural-Pet-Vital-Digest/999170.aspx
My reason for my decision... Dr. Jean Hofve DVM recommended it.  I had to have someone else make the decision for me.   Silly7
