Green Vert
« on: July 13, 2011, 01:41:19 PM »
Found this in Superstore, it is a corn based litter but has a scent to it, not too overpowering. It clumps pretty darn good, for a corn based litter. It is dustless, and covers the odor well. Was only 6.99$ for a 3.2 kg. bag.
We will be buying more of this.

I've heard (no personal experience) of cats eating litter that is corn based.  I've also heard that ants are attracted to corn based litter.  I have had that experience.  :(

My kitten ate the corn litter when I tried it, and like you I have also heard of problems with ants, and mold, too. The search for a 'perfect' litter is as endless as the 'I just want a good safe healthy reliable food that they will eat' food search.

I've tried mannnnnny brands of litter over several years.  Bad experiences with some.  Good experiences with others.  HOWEVER, the best litter test was... adding two boxes to the master bedroom.   :o  Dr. Easley's (for me AND the cats) passed all the testing.
No perfume smell.  Clumps GREAT.  I'd say it is 99.9% dust FREE!  Doesn't track allllll over the house.  KILLS odors.  The cats that didn't used to cover their "deposits" ... all cover now.

I would use it if it was sold locally.  But....the way it is now, it's feed them right, or give the the best litter, can't afford to do both.

I keep forgetting you have that "local" problem.
