Robin Williams is dead

 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

He has been one of my absolute favorite comedians of all time. After he got away from being Mork that is.

This comment (it was on CNN) was one that I found very touching.

This is a real bummer. Robin was a very active participant in USO shows and I was fortunate enough to see him perform his stand-up comedy in Iraq back in 2005. This man made a hug sacrifice just to put a smile on our faces at a time when we didn't have much to smile about. I wish that someone could have done the same for him. Thanks Robin, I hope you know that you brought good to people's lives

I . . . just can't imagine a world without Robin here.  The day dawned so much darker knowing he's gone.

I am so sorry that he was in so much pain that he couldn't find another way out of it.  I hope he finds the peace he didn't seem to have in life.  RIP, Robin.  You will be terribly missed.   :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( rainbow3

"Depression isn't about, 'Woe is me, my life is this, that and the other', it's like having the worst flu all day that you just can't kick." ~~ Robin Williams

If you know someone that's depressed. Reach out to them. Right now they're thinking, "If someone like __________ can't handle it, why should I think I can beat it?"

Yes. I've heard that said about other celebrities like Kurt Cobain, so I expect it to also be said about R.W.

I would GUESS severe depression is even more difficult for celebrities to over-come.  They are surrounded by TONS of people, but often very alone.

The "funny" (others may not agree) I remember is him talking about Michael Jackson using propofol at home, to help him sleep.  He said it made as much sense as someone getting chemo, because they liked the bald look, but were to lazy to shave their head.

Robin Williams was able to do things others couldn't--get away with shocking and offending a lot of people while they were still laughing so hard they couldn't speak to object.

Laughed until the tears were rolling while watching the first one.  Didn't care for the 2nd, but I don't have much sense of humor when it comes to cats going out or not being neutered.

But that "mine" skit, especially with the water bottle as prop, was HILARIOUS.

A closer insight as to why this happens to so many comedians:

Quote
Robin Williams and Why Funny People Kill Themselves

I'm not going to quote any single part, because you have to read the whole thing to get even the smallest inkling as to how these funny people really feel inside, and why the way they are outside.

Thank you. The work he's done for our troops and dogs made me have massive respect for him. I just wish he could have stopped and thought harder about how badly his children, wife and dog will miss him. I wish his wife had checked on him before she left that morning. I wish he'd picked up the phone and called someone. Anyone. I wish all people in that same type of depression would walk away from the exact spot they're standing or sitting.

Just. Do. Something. Else. For. One. Minute. Longer.

When you hurt that badly, you don't think of anything else except ending the pain.  You don't think there's any other way out, or that anyone can help you.  All you can think of is ending the pain.
