New Web Series
« on: August 18, 2011, 06:43:09 AM »
My friend's niece, Amy Halloran, has started a new web series called unLEASHED.  It's a little series about a dog walking business.  Amy Halloran has some TV credits, she's been trying to 'break into' Hollywood for quite a few years, and now she's doing this.  It's HILARIOUS!

I love watching it partly because Amy (who plays Heather, the owner of the dog walking business) looks a lot like my friend. :)

Here's the link to their page, I think it links her most recent episode (episode 3) first, but 2 and 1 are on there also.

Or you can follow them on Facebook or twitter or youtube

PS there is a bit of language that some may find offensive, mostly in reference to dog-do :)

I never heard of a web series before either, until this one.  So you knew about it already?  That's good to know, my friend (her aunt) will be pleased! I asked my friend how they make any money doing this and she said mostly from advertising on the site. Amy is really cute isn't she?  Even though she doesn't know me, I've heard so much about her over the past 15 years I kind of feel like a doting aunt, anyway.

It's very cute and as professional as many of the reality shows around now. I wish her well.

Heh... web series are a relatively new phenomenon.

Google "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog"... Niel Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day... A rather campy story about a supervillian's rise to villiany.  hannibal1

Also, Felicia day has produced 5 seasons of her web series "The Guild".  About a group of disfunctional computer gamers...   redheadgoe engarde1 queencc
... if you play any kind of MMO, you'll get a few good laughs out of it.

Those are the first two I ever came across, but there are a lot more out there.
An entire sub-industry and community has sprung up around web series.  There are annual contests and awards, and even an award equivalent to the Emmys.   champ1
