Rest In Peace Orange Fish Cat Toy
« on: February 09, 2018, 01:45:15 PM »
The cats have had this toy... for I don't know how long.  Years probably. It squeaks.  Rather it used to.
They have other toys.  They have other squeaker toys.  But THIS toy was IT!!

I wish I had video of their faces, when they go to play with it now... and it doesn't make noise anymore.  They toss it.... wait for the sound... walk away.

Since it has been so long, I had no idea where I bought it.  I didn't know a brand name.

I searched the internet for "orange fish cat toy," and "fish cat toy."  Found a few similar toys.... but not THE one.  Found squeaker toys... not an orange fish.

I started a search, via cat toy manufactures.  FOUND it.... on Amazon.  God bless you, Amazon.com!   Silly7

They are gonna be SOOOOOO happy when that arrives!  Well, hopefully.  I never understood why some toys had the "it" factor and others, even exactly the same, didn't.   :-\  But hopefully, this little fishy will have the same IT factor as the now-silent fishy.   fingerscrossed fingerscrossed fingerscrossed

If anyone is wondering... yes, I looked to make sure the squeaker wasn't removed.  :)  Fish is totally intact.  Actually it is in really good shape, for as much playtime it got.  But they don't bite it, paw at it, or lick it... just toss in the air, chase it, and bat at it.

The most fun to watch is when they toss, chase, and bat from under the dining room table.  They don't just go straight for it... they jump up and over the bars (?) that are between the chair legs.

You probably got it sometime around when Finding Nemo was such a popular movie.

That's funny. When I was searching, that did come up in the results.

Are you saying that
It is the same toy!!

Are you saying that they think so?

I only ask because Queen Eva has about a hundred of the exact same white fur Puffs.  But the only two she will play with are the two original ones, one of which was Ootay's (Ootay has been gone almost 9 years) and the other which was hers from when she was a baby, both which are completely bald now.

She won't play with any of the others.

I would say they are drawn to the noise this toy makes.

So they are playing with it?

None of mine like toys that squeak.  Thank goodness.

Yup.... they are all happy again.  lol

I say "squeak," but it is a noise that I can't really describe.  If you don't like squeaks, you probably wouldn't like this toy though.  The noise doesn't bother me, not even when I am sleeping (or trying to), because the noise tells me that someone is having a good time playing.  :)
