Austin TX has brought a bill to pass declawing and it, according to the Paw Project, has passed it's first vote, unanimously.

The Paw Project wants to be the first to tell you that the proposed declaw ban passed the first step in Austin, TX today. Paw Project Directors Dr. Katrina Breitreiter and Dr. Nicole Martell-Moran organized support and testified. The committee voted UNANIMOUSLY to move the bill forward! If passed by the entire Council, it will become law...it would be the tenth US city to prohibit declawing.
