Title: A Cat's Teeth Up Close
Post by: Lola on June 02, 2015, 06:18:44 PM
Notice their jaws don't move up and down.  They have no flat molars.  Putting aside kibble ingredients and the lack of needed moisture... a cat has to crunch and swallow.  Once inside, the kibble swells.  Imagine how uncomfortable that must be!  Constant barfing is NOT normal.

Nice video, thanks for sharing!  As I like to say, "Would you feed popcorn to a shark?  Then why feed kibble to a cat?"

I love watching my Jennie eat something solid like a chicken neck.  Wish I could find them sold separately, she only gets them when I roast a chicken.  But she enjoys her wings too.  I've been trying to encourage Queen Eva to eat some bone in meals (other than the ground bone in Stella&Chewy's).  she isn't very enthusiastic about it.

That is SOOOOOO cool!
I'm impressed with Jennie eating over the plate also... and Mazy being so patient.
As your local grocery store if they can order necks for you.  It is possible (for some) and they may not have to order huge amounts.  Can't hurt to ask.

Do all three of your cats have all their teeth?

Me, too.  If that was Pookie, he'd have grabbed it and run under the daybed with it.  That was his "den."   ::)

Thanks! I never thought of that.

Yep. :)

Jennie is very good about staying over the plate. Only once in a while will she drag something to the side, if she's having trouble with it usually, but she's so skilled now that rarely happens.
