Monsanto has vigorously pursued a retraction of the IARC's damning report, to prevent California from pursuing a cancer warning on Roundup and other, newer weed killers in the pipeline, designed for use on the company's latest genetically engineered (GE) crops.

That's good news. Sadly most won't bother to read the label. People seem to prefer to remain willfully ignorant.
Having knowledge is too inconvenient.
Trenton Norris, Monsanto's lawyer, argued in court Friday that the labels would result in irreparable and immediate negative fiscal effect for Monsanto, because millions of consumers [would] stop buying Roundup because of the labels."
I fervently hope so.

???? I've seen labels that state things along the lines of "The State of California has determined X to be carcinogenic . . . " -- maybe that will be the case here? :-\

I don't know why, but yeah. It's California that they've been fighting. No one else. California is all I've heard about in every article I've read about the lawsuit.

Hopefully it will be like all the others, and the CA warning will be on everyones. Seems like it'd be a nightmare company-side to try to manufacture a product with one label for one state, and another label for everyone else. Hope they have the hammer dropped on them.

What I'm hoping is that they lose against Cali and the rest will follow like so many other things.
