This film is an in depth look at the commercial pet food industry, its lack of regulation, and how it has evolved over the years, as it is now owned mostly by 4 conglomerates. We also look into what the actual diet requirements are for dogs and cats, VS what pet food companies claim, and actually sell. It is something that few of us have taken the time to think about, and it is eye opening when you realize how long they have operated without ever being challenged.

Recently a writer for a pet food industry journal penned a blog post about "Pet Fooled" saying that after watching the film, she was surprised to realize she actually agreed with one of its main points, which is, "That consumers are under-educated and overly confused about their options."3
She goes on to say that, "What the documentary failed to address is that the pet food industry knows this and has been discussing the issue at great length for some time now." The pet food industry may be "discussing the issue at great length," but to what end? To see how it can further muddy the waters? Let's keep it real, pet food companies, shall we?

I bought it a while ago. Haven't watched it. Not sure I need to, do I? I know enough don't I? I couldn't be any more anti-processed pet food than I already am, especially kibble.
But I do recommend it, often, to others.

No, you don't need to watch it. There is nothing new that YOU would learn.
I bought it to support them and I watched it to refresh my memory a bit. :)
I bumped this thread because of the PFI speaking out about the film... and Dr. Becker's response.

Me too. And to hopefully have my friend watch it before she adopts her new kittens, whenever that may be.
Then I will donate it to the library like I did with a copy of The Paw Project.
