Off to the Heart concert!
« on: September 08, 2016, 12:28:57 PM »

Took a couple days off to be able to take my sister and her roommate/friend to the Heart concert at SPAC, (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) Cheap Trick and Joan Jet are also on.

Took today off to be able to sleep in, relax and get ready for the long drive and very very long night (won't be home until 2 a.m.) and tomorrow off (plus the weekend) to recover.

I found out yesterday a co-worker will also be at this concert, but they have seats inside, not on the lawn.

Bad thunderstorms expected so send me some safe driving vibes okay?

Been a long time since I did this....bananamiddlechild

I had to share this . . . the 2 ladies of Heart just knocked this out of the park.  It was their tribute to Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center Honors - Stairway to Heaven:

Home safe and sound at 2 a.m.

 grouphug grouphug grouphug

Never saw this one before:

Meow1

We got poured on 3 times but then the storms stopped coming over. Soaking wet!

I brought a change of clothes and changed before getting back in my car.

Rained most of the way home though.   On MY way home I mean, not bringing them home.

Found out I had a headlight out.  How did I find out?  got pulled over. I was going jhome on route 20 instead of the thruway because there was night road work on the thruway.  so I was going up 20 to I-88 and when I saw the lights behind me (this was at 12:30 a,m) I couldn't' imagine what I'd done.  I wasn't speeding and all the lights were green. But he told he I had a head light out which explained why it was so dark.  Only had that headlight replaced 18 months ago. And the other one about 6 months after that. Geez.

Glad you made it home safe!
Did you enjoy the concert?  Can Heart and Joan Jett still rock?  :)
Did the officer give you a ticket or just a warning to get your headlight fixed?

No ticket.  It was awful driving home though I couldn't see because of the missing headlight, rain and fog.  Once I set myself up behind an 18 wheeler, staying about 3 "one thousands" back from the truck, I was okay. When I got off the highway there was no traffic and I used my brights to get home from there.

Joan Jett and heart were both good I think, I don't know their songs that well so I'm not a very good judge.  Cheap Trick was horrible haha!  I didn't pay much attention to the shows, truthfully. Everything was soaking wet and I mostly walked around.  Met, and spent an hour or so, talking to some nice women who were three sisters come to the concert together.  That was fun.  They took a picture with one of the women's phone and I gave her my e mail address to share it with me.  They wanted to stay in touch, they said, they liked me so much, heehee!

Oh I did learn that you don't keep your bottle of water in the bottle holder of your back pack at a concert.  I had a bottle stolen twice before I caught on.  Water was $5 a bottle.

I'm glad you made it home safely, bummed about the headlight, and also glad you had a good time.

I wouldn't steal someone's water because
1.  It is wrong.
2.  I don't know if you have any germs!  ;)

I think the only song I remember liking from Cheap Trick is this one:

Yeah, that and the Mommy's alright one are the only two I even know.  They actually open with a song that had a nice kicky beat and audience participation on the refrain which was "yeah, oh yeah".  That was fun. But the rest..had to get away from it haha!
