Welcome Frida Ferret!
« on: September 24, 2016, 08:48:18 AM »
HI!  We don't have a ferret section yet, but maybe admin can set a section up.  In the mean time you could post your questions in General?

Lola, I referred Frida over from another forum, she is looking for info on raw feeding ferrets.

I thought ferrets were obligate carnivores like cats? Wouldn't you feed them just like cats in that case?

Ferrets are obligate carnivores like cats yes, but they may have different nutritional needs than cats do.  Cats' needs are extremely specific to cats.

I don't know about ferrets, but I am looking forward to finding out with Frida Ferret!

Of course the 80/10/5/5 (muscle meat/bone/liver/other secreting organ) is standard prey model, so it may be as simple as that for all carnivores?

WELCOME!

I'm not sure if this is a good spot or not, but... for now, a Ferrets Board can be found here:  http://parenting-furkids.com/index.php?board=141.0
