A veterinarian is warning the community of an outbreak of parvo effecting adult and vaccinated dogs.

The canine parvovirus infection is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs.

Dr. Neuman, Veterinarian at the Twin Peaks Veterinary Center, said she has seen nearly 20 cases in the last month. Many of the dogs have died.

Neuman said this outbreak is troubling because it is effecting adult dogs and dogs who are vaccinated. She said she has never seen an outbreak like this.

"I worry about there being a new strain," she said.
