Well what's everyone doing?  My friend D is coming over.  I am making the turkey breast in my new slow cooker! It takes a long time this way so we'll be eating kind of late.  I feel bad for her having to drive home in the dark but better her than me!

She's bringing potatoes and gravy and apple cake. And a meat thermometer. I had to bake my mince pie last night because I don't have a freezer big enough to hold a frozen pie.

I couldn't find the rolls I wanted so I got the kind that comes in a refrigerator roll?  You have to pop it open and shape them?  I didn't realize until this morning that there are only 8 rolls in there.  So there won't be much in the way of left over rolls.

There should be a lot of turkey though the thing is 9 1/2 pounds! It barely fit in my 8 qt cooker.

I used a slow cooker liner bag on friend's advice.

Now I have to clean the apartment.

oh yeah and I have these beautiful organic carrots I got at the farmers market last Saturday.  The plan was to put them in the bottom of the crock pot under the turkey breast but tehre is not room for them.  So I'mm make them the way i really like them, caramelized.

We're having Turkey that I've roasted all night; blueberry salad; dressing (We're southern and don't stuff birds); sweet potato casserole; green beans; rolls; and an easy dessert that I saw on Pinterest.

Everyone around here uses grape jello: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/20260/blueberry-salad/

We also add some crushed Cheerios in the topping for extra crunch, and if you need different milk like me, don't use as much as the recipe says: http://pinchofyum.com/sweet-potato-casserole

I'll exchange the cake mix for Gluten-free cake mix and the butter with my soy-free Earth Balance butter substitute: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/515662226069151414/

I knew there was something I was forgetting add to the list:  Jellied Cranberry Sauce

OH yes, cranberry sauce here, too.  A couple of weeks ago when I was hiking with my sister and I was telling her what was going to be my dinner she said "don't forget the cranberry sauce".  I had to laugh because I go through a can a week of the stuff so I am not likely to forget it haha!

I use an organic brand to stay away from high frutcose corn syrup.  Nothing but cranberries. sugar, and lemon juice (all listed as organic)

Of all the days that I am unable to sleep... hope today is one of them!  lol
We are changing things up a bit this year.

Our Menu:
Turkey baked in the oven.  We did a practice run on the grill a few months ago.  It was good, but the grills will be pretty busy today.
Chateaubriand cooked on the grill.  (It is beyond delicious!)
Garlic mashed potatoes - grill.
Mushrooms and onions - grill
Green Bean Casserole without soup - oven
Mac and Cheese - grill
Corn (GMO probably) - grill
Stuffing
Pasta Salad
7 Layer Salad
Rolls - store bought... took the easy way out!
Gravy
Fresh veggie trays.

Sister is making pumpkin cheese cake, apple pie, pistachio poof, and something else I can't remember right now.

Daughter is flying in as I am typing this.  :)

Blueberry salad sounds yummy!
Forgot the cranberry sauce! Oh well... not going to the store!

Next year, we should all meet somewhere in the middle... at a Denny's.  :)

Brother, Sister, Mom and I are going to the nursing home to eat with Dad today at lunchtime.  Hopefully we'll get a nice place to sit.  After that, Sister is staying at the parents' house and I'll come back to my home, then go out to the house tomorrow.  Sister and I have a list of things to get done there, and we'll also celebrate her birthday which is next week.  I made peanut butter/chocolate fudge for dessert since she mentioned pb/choc is her favorite fudge.

Mom's bringing stuffing and cranberry sauce to the facility today, too, so Dad has something homemade/familiar.

I hope you all have a great day!

So . . . Kansas?   Silly7  There's Dee's but that's a bit east for you.

If I go in the direction of OK or KS, my youngest will wonder why I'm not visiting him instead.
