Another story about Queen Eva's Puffs
« on: November 05, 2017, 01:33:07 PM »
You all have heard about Queen Eva's Puffs, I know. She has two that are down to nubs that she will play with (her Solitary Games).  She has a hundred others she won't play with.  The reunited Purple one was lost within a week of it being found again, never to be seen again, so it's just these two white ones.

One went missing, seemingly permanently.

Queen Eva and I have been looking almost daily, since early September for this missing Puff.  But I never found it.

Anyway Friday morning as I was making my coffee and getting Mazy cat's pre-meal ready I noticed Queen Eva sitting by the fridge exuding some sort of anxiety or anticipation.  Every time I looked her way she nodded toward the bottom of the fridge and the wooden stick that lays there.

I finally realized she was trying to tell me something so (with an early morning stiffness groan) I got down on the floor and started swishing around under the fridge with the wood, and lo and behold, out popped the missing Puff.  Now I know that Puff wasn't under there before because I have not only swished under there a hundred times before, but have pulled the whole refrigerator out to check behind.

So somehow, somewhere she either found it, or has been keeping it in hiding.  She must have played with it after unearthing it and chased it under there the night before.

No matter what I am thrilled to have it back as it's only one of two that she actually will play with and I always worry what will happen if they are both lost.

I hope the purple Puff will turn up again sometimes but it's been years.

I saw this earlier and thought she might like something that looks like it's got a face? something to hunt? There are a bunch of them in the comments too.

And I realize these are technically dog toys, but she might like some of these because of their resemblance to animals:

They have a lot of toys that are specially for cats too. She might like something that crinkles:

Including Tinsel balls:

She has plenty of choices already, including the types Dee linked to up above (the second link just takes me back to this thread though, what's up with that?)

For interactive play, she plays with many types of toys, most of her own invention, not bought.  You must  know I provide a vast array of choices for my girls! lol For her solitary games, those two bald Puffs are the only things that will do.

It finally happened.  Both favorite Puffs were lost.  One disappeared a few months ago, late 2017, and the other has been missing for at least two months.  It's never happened that both were gone seemingly permanently, for this long before.  My last hope was when I pulled out the fridge two weeks ago, and there was nothing back there either.

Now and then I will get up in the morning to see she has played with one of her other toys but not as often as I would like.  Then last weekend I found the missing PURPLE Puff, which some of you may remember went missing years ago, then was found for a short time with great joy on her part, then quickly lost again.  I found it in a box under the couch.

So I showed it to her and put it in it's place hoping she would use that since her White Puffs are gone.

She has not played with the Purple Puff at all.

Last night I heard Queen Eva doing a lot of Thundering and Singing after I turned out the light so I thought I would find the Purple Puff out and about this morning.  It was still in it's place, so I couldn't figure out what she had been playing with.

Just now Mazy cat knocked her cap under the stove, so I pulled out the stove to get it and lo and behold, there was one of the missing White Puffs!!!! It's the one that was most recently lost, not the one that has been gone since at least December.

I am sure Queen Eva will never tell me where she found it.  And the other is still missing.

Queen Eva is so happy to have one of her Puffs back in circulation. I wish we could find the other one, too. She was hollering over it so loud last night.  funny2

Check the servants' manual - favorite toys have to be purchased in multiples. It is up to the furry to change it to unfavorite.

She has hundreds of them.  Those two are the only ones she will play with. They, and the purple one,  are the originals given to us years ago, source unknown.

For some reason the ones I bought to back those three up are not acceptable to her.

Last night she had them both out.  The white one first, then this morning the re-found purple one was missing.  Thankfully I was able to find them both (with Queen Eva anxiously hovering as I searched for them) and put them back where they belong.

The singing when she plays with them is very loud!  funny2
