Nutritional Yeast
« on: June 26, 2013, 08:19:02 PM »
Should I consider adding this to Amber's food? I now add egg yolk lecithin every three days and a salmon oil capsule every four days (instead of adding it the batch of food). The Natural Cat talks about the benefits of nutritional yeast, but I take that with a grain of salt because it also recommends SOY lecithin and WHEAT bran. Nutritional yeast is high in b vitamins, minerals, and 15 amino acids, so it looks like a good idea, but its, ya know, yeast, and for some stupid reason I have it in my head that it would cause ear infections or something (don't ask me where that came from, I dont know).

I can't comment on the benefits or lack thereof, but yeast probably makes you think of ear infections because yeast infections in the ears  are fairly common for cats
