By Rachele Baker, DVM – In January 2014, Zoetis announced the release in both the United States and the European Union of a new medication for allergic dogs called Apoquel. Zoetis’ press release in the United States stated: “Zoetis today announced that Apoquel (oclacitinib tablet) is now available to veterinarians in the United States for the control of pruritus, or itching, associated with allergic dermatitis and the control of atopic dermatitis in dogs at least 12 months of age. With Apoquel, veterinarians now have a first-in-class treatment choice that targets the itch of allergic skin conditions at its source.”
"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semihuman. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog." Edward Hoagland
"Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog; but you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."
