Almo Nature
« on: June 06, 2014, 12:55:39 AM »
If anyone can afford to feed this food as a topper, it is a good food, but only contains the meat, so not nutritionally complete.  A friend of mine has done extensive research on this company. http://www.almonature.ca/gatto/legend/#14

Sounds good, until the last line.   :(

Quote
Cats are carnivores.
Their natural prey are mice, small rodents, and birds. All contain a water content of 70 to 80%.
This is why cats lack the natural instinct to drink: in the wild, they would satisfy water needs with the natural content of their preys.
The same instinct applies to domestic cats.
They usually don’t reach an adequate supply of water if they exclusively eat dry food.
Hence the recommendation to provide wet food, an essential bowl of water, along with dry food.

I found that line odd, too. They just want to say what everyone wants to hear I guess.

Or they're afraid of getting sued by Hills and Purina.    ;)

It is all over their website... "60% wet + 40% dry = 100% nutrition."  Gag.

Kibble issues aside..  Why would someone want to feed this food?  How does one make it 100% nutritional?  Is it more of a snack?

I find it strange too. Im gonna ask my friend about this. I know that where this food is made was originally made for human based foods. They then turned it into a pet food manufacturing place.  It could be that they still use if for human based foods, so they just make a snack food for pets?
