Way too much.  10% bone is max, and some even think that is too high.

Ive sent them an email to explain the ratios, still waiting for a reply. It looks like it is 35% chicken with bone in, so maybe not 35% bone??

POULTRY, 20% HEART & LIVER
AND 10% FISH"

*Scratching head* If it's raw, why is fish in it?

I've had a look at the web site.  WAY too complicated for me.  I need raw feeding to be as simple as possible.

Not to mention that it's in Canada. That might cause some shipping issues. But I'm skeptical b/c you all have always told me that cats shouldn't have fish--especially raw fish. Well they are putting fish in things. That makes me question their knowledge which makes me question the safety of their product.

I hate fish in cat food.  That's like that orijen, I think they are a Canadian company.  All they make is dry food, and every formula contains fish.  And their web site is full of lies.

people think Orjen is so great, but I always disagree when I come across orijen discussions. Way WAY overated.

Hi Guys,

Long time.

This post came up on my Google alerts for raw pet food.

Full disclosure I sell Buddies, so take what I say as you will.

Like all fresh foods they don't claim to be complete nor balanced. They offer many good products that make up a good diet. Through a variety of recipes and sourcing we can ensure our pets get the best opportunity for health. The poultry they use is ground carcass, necks and backs. They add the boneless beef and organs to complement that, they also add the fish because cats like it. It makes for a cost effective addition to a fresh foods diet, nothing more.

I hope that helps clarify, my position on it anyhow. Hopefully Buddies will respond directly.

FYI - they are sold on Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland of BC and that's about it. I'm pretty sure they cannot sell mail order.

Cheers and have a merry Christmas everyone.

:)

Thanks for the post :)
I am still waiting for a reply from Buddies. The small portions I did buy my Mango really liked, but I still would like to know the ratios.
Like MC I like things to be a bit simple, one of the reasons why I really like Carnivora, basically all I had to add was a fish oil to supplement.

Shadow,
Any chance you asked them what kind of fish they use?

Depending on the kind and where it is sourced from... fish could make transitioning to raw easier.  ??

Problem with fish is, no matter where it comes from originally, even the Atlantic ocean off the coast of long island (or whatever) it is ALL processed in China. I've read that a number of times recently.  It's really put me off fish, even for myself.
