CC,
Your buddy joined the 3000 hits club.   buddyboo1

But one thing the Yankees never had, until now, was a player with 3,000 hits. A few have passed through on their way to the milestone, but only one has collected 3,000 as a Yankee. He is Derek Jeter, the team captain, who got there in a most improbable way on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

He hit a home run.

Wow. Just WOW!!  He pulled a Boggs!!!!  Had 5 hits!!! Had 2 total dingers the WHOLE year going into this game!!!!

Incredible.  And Mariano gets the save -- 21 to go for the ALL times saves record for Mo now.

Had to go out today so missed most of the game BUT got the "play & record" going on the ol' boombox as soon as I got home  --  now it's John Sterling's Post game  -- hardly any static!!!!

Here's the long version --, Johnny Damon's the Tampa guy who looks like Mickey Dolenz of the Monkees (IMO)

and watch him & his teammates around the 4:20 min mark  http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110614&content_id=20463750&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb

There's a short version buried who knows where in the Yankee fan threads & I can't find it now! :-\

here's a real short version -- you'll see Damon almost right away: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?c_id=mlb&content_id=16783849

The one I'm looking for was just right== shots of Damon before he hit it too.

AND the only other guy to ever hit a HR for his 3,000 hit -- Wade Boggs, one time Yankee, who did it while playing for.....

Tampa Bay (Devil) Rays!!!
