Thanks for the update!  I'd been wondering how she was doing.

It sounds like that dose is working really well for her, and I love how active and energetic she is!  multistars

That's great that you were able to get the weight and trim done all in one day, and even better that she didn't hold a grudge.   funny2

fingerscrossed that she has no issues with the new formula!   Hug1

I forgot to tell about something that happened two weeks ago. We were playing her Tunnel Sliding Game but she slipped and fell on the jump up part of the game. I don't know what happened but she missed the grab onto the Playhouse and landed on her back on the ONE SPOT of the wood floor that isn't covered. (it is covered, now)

I was upset, but she didn't seem to be painful after it, and went on to continue to play, but only with the small curved tunnel**, not the whole Game. It may be she just can't safely play that Game anymore, but I'm not sure. After all, later in the evening she was Thundering Around the House, flinging her body around and up on the stair-step bookcases and who knows what.

Queen Eva has not played that part of the Game since that happened 2 weeks ago, but she has invented a modified version of it! She still gets her run and flop and slide, but we skip the jump. :)

Also a few weeks ago I put a portion of yoga mat under the rug where this curved scratcher lives, because she's always thumping her body to the floor so hard, I worried the rug itself wasn't enough protection. She supervised the process, and then for two days after would not play with it, but now I think she's discovered it's more comfortable and is playing and thumping her body down and sliding hard,  just as much as ever on it

Yesterday she timed her pee and poop perfectly and I was able to do her monthly nail trim, and get a weight, much to her annoyance lol.

She's down an ounce which is okay I really do like to keep her at 7 lbs, but not much less than that so I've increased her portions just a tiny bit.

She did not hold a grudge after the nail trim and weight, in fact she played the new version of her old sliding game with great vigor for over five minutes!

I've spoken with the vet about the changing formula and they've sent in the new order. There was the usual road blocks, due to the new laws, but I timed it just right, I have just started her most recent refill, so that should last well over until they get done with all the bureaucracy and get the new bottle to us.

The goal is to have the new formula alongside the old for a few days, slowly introducing the new, in place of the old,  to make sure she adjusts okay. Hope the taste is the same. I get the unflavored for her and it, to me, has a sightly bitter taste, which doesn't seem to bother her.  I will taste the new version as well.

She remembered! I did wonder if she would. Last summer I introduced Queen Eva to the cat proofed back porch. I did the cat proofing when I first moved in, but it was never appropriate for Mazy cat so I never tried taking a cat out there at all until last summer. It's not very secure and she has to wear a harness and string and cannot be left alone out there. She quickly learned not to door dash, and the routine was established, after work or on a warm Sunday morning we'd spend some time out there. There are pictures in this thread. :)

Then it got dark and cold and she stopped asking.

I wondered if she'd forgotten all about it. We are having a very early spring, usually the world is still stark and white and cold this time of year and yesterday it was so balmy and sunny, 60 F, when I got home from work after I changed my clothes and gave her a Flyswatter Game she led me out to the kitchen, jumped up onto the bench by the door and indicated she wanted to go out!

I hurried out and set up the gate while she patiently waited, then let me slip the harness onto her, and out she went. We sat out there for half an hour before she went in.

So happy!

I got an e mail from the compounding pharmacy about the changing state laws and how they have to change the compounds they use for these meds or something. I didn't really understand it, but my vet had told me last time we spoke the state has gone crazy regulating pet meds and leaving pets unable to get their life sustaining and quality of life meds.

The e mail stated my vet was being informed too, so I will talk to her next week about how this is going to effect Queen Eva.

Maybe she's picking up on the good energy/vibrations that you're receiving?   :)

Queen Eva has started to join me on my guided mediation sessions. I mean, it's not unusual for her to get on me, when I lie down and am reading.

But when I am doing the guided meditations, when she gets on me it feels different, she feels different. Her purr and chirps have a sightly different resonance, and when she finishes kneading and curls up, she seems to spread herself out more somehow. It's interesting.

How's she doing?

 Hug1 Hug1

Eating everything I put I front of her!  Showing more interest in playing but not quite up to usual yet. I did get some video of some of her favorite games, before I reduced the dose again. I can't remember if you can view videos but I can post them here if you can.

You may remember the canned food I feed her has been discontinued. I have enough to take us through September then that's it.  So far the only food I have found to replace it is Ziwi Peak.  I had been giving her a small portion of this periodically, and lately have been using it for her bedtime meal every night. She eats it, but has passed some very hard stool overnight. That is not a good sign, but of course I can't be sure it is the ZWP causing it, more experimenting will be needed.

She still gets her raw meal in the morning. Then canned at supper time, usually a bit of 'extra' when I have my supper, she'll either have some of my chicken, or if I'm not having something I can share with her she gets a few pieces of plain raw chicken.

And bedtime is the ZWP.  There are variations, once a week she gets a cooked meal (I make a cooked batch of mostly pork, with a little chicken in it, and freeze it into meal portions in it's broth) instead of the ZWP, and once a week she gets Meat Mates freeze dried raw for her supper meal in place of the canned.

She won't eat either of those meals more than once a week.

Also..something I forget until she starts doing it again.  I am so thrilled to see her sit and have a good face wash like a normal cat after she eats, instead of that awful crouch.
