Removing Alfalfa From Our Diets

We’ve decided to remove alfalfa from our food formulations this summer, for the following reasons:

We’ve begun the process of verification with the Non-GMO Project for some of our recipes. Although our alfalfa is certified organic, there is a concern about genetic drift, which involves the cross contamination of non-GMO crops with pollen from genetically modified crops.
In addition, our customer surveys have shown that alfalfa is increasingly an ingredient that many pets can’t tolerate, based on owner observations of sensitivities, or the results of allergy testing.
In Preference, we’re excited to replace the alfalfa with green peas, which are a nutritious vegetable that’s comparably rich in protein. Peas are also a fabulous source of the master antioxidant and phytonutrient Glutathione, which is important for many functions in the body, including regulating immune response.

While I applaud the alfalfa removal . . . really, guys, you don't need to add the peas.  They're cats, not rabbits.  *sigh*
