True Grit
« on: December 11, 2016, 02:44:12 PM »
I recently found out there was a remake of True Grit. True Grit, the original, is one of my favorite movies,, a go-to comfort movie when I need one.

So I thought I'd give the re-make a try.

I've just posted my review on netflix. I forgot to copy it so I can't tell you exactly what I said, but oh boy it is TEDIOUS.  At first I thought Jeff Bridges was going to do an okay rendition of Wayne's Cogburn, but he got old fast. The guy playing LeBoeuf will never match Glen Campbell.  And the actress playing Mattie....not even close.  Kim Darby has such a wonderful spark. This actress just falls very short.

I was watching it last Sunday and right around where LeBoeuf flays Mattie the DVD broke down.  I requested a replacement, now I wish I hadn't bothered.  I am not going to finish it.
