Merry Christmas!
« on: December 23, 2017, 09:35:07 PM »
Lots of singing dog and cat videos out there, but I hadn't seen this one before.  Enjoy!

Watch at the bottom, it gives the name of each pet as he or she appears.  Jupiter is my favorite.  :)

There's a Lola in this one:

"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semihuman. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog." Edward Hoagland
"Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog; but you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."

Re: Merry Corgi Christmas!

Cardigan Corgi people, well they're just a different breed, and those of us with them adore them. This was in a 1991 CWC bulletin:

A Christmas Fantasy
by Barbara S. Merickel (with apologies to Clement Moore.)

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the barn,
The sheep were all sleeping
No cause for alarm.

The 'collies were snuggled
Sound asleep in their beds.
While dreams of long outruns
Flashed through their heads.

The Cardi was lying
Alert by the hearth,
Playing the guardian,
Keeping watch in the dark.

When out on the lawn
There arose such a clatter,
"Help!" a voice cried,
"The reindeer have scattered!"

Away to the window
I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters
And threw up the sash.

The dogs bolted by me,
All ready to go,
They bounded past Santa's
Sleigh, mired in the snow.

The collies stopped short,
Gazing up in the sky,
For on this magic night
The Cardi could fly.

(This poorly understood phenomenon,
also known as the "Dumbo Effect" is
thought to be related to the ratio of
ear surface area to body mass, but I digress....)

The reindeer were soaring
And nearly out of sight,
But the Cardi was gaining,
Could he stop their flight?

The snow began falling
Like down from a thistle.
"Not to worry" said Santa
And he took out his whistle.

By then the Cardi
Had passed the herd by.
With a long blast from Santa
They all stopped in the sky.

He blew several short notes
And the Cardi moved in
The reindeer all turned
And headed toward us again.

And back to the sleigh
In a line straight and true,
For the world's longest fetch
Right out of the blue.

We penned up the reindeer
And hitched up the sleigh,
Soon Santa was ready
To be on his way.

With a smile and a wave
Across the sky they flew
"Merry Christmas!" he cried
"GOOD DOG, THAT'LL DO!"

As always, here is my favorite Christmas video.

My own precious Tolly Sweet Pea.  How he loved his tree. It's one of the first videos I ever took, having only just gone digital.

Merry Christmas to my Dear Friends in PFK.    love1 love1 love1 love1 Christmas14
