Happy Gotcha Day - Miss Kitty!
« on: October 11, 2021, 09:56:40 AM »
2 years ago today.  It's been a very long, difficult road, but we've made progress, both in her health issues and her trust issues.  They're still there, but much better.  And she doesn't have to worry about the rain, snow, ice, the landscapers, cars, kids, dogs, other kitties beating her up or keeping her from food or starvation.

I hope someday she truly understands and knows that she's safe and wanted and cared for, and that she doesn't have to be afraid anymore.  But it's one day at a time, and on her terms, and that's ok.

Thanks!  She was on the arm of the recliner again that night, but I blew it by petting her.  That was a "no" (or at least a "not yet") so she jumped down.  Oops.  :(

Yesterday she saw a chipmunk run across my deck and she actually reacted!  In the past, she didn't even notice since she was usually sleeping.  She kept looking for it with her ears perked up, and today she played with her toy mouse a little.  She's also been getting more Bossy during meal prep.  Yay!

I'm so happy for you both. I expect it's a little of both..feeling better and getting more comfortable? I know what you mean though about making that one move that turns out to be the wrong one. But they get over it. :D
