Will we have no leaves at all this year?
« on: March 01, 2017, 07:33:19 PM »
We've had unseasonably warm weather.  That's not so unusual, a thaw in February, I mean, but the problem is, we weren't frozen to begin with. Usually if we have a few warm days here and there in Feb, it doesn't matter because the ground is still frozen and covered in snow.  This year, the ground is not frozen and the snow is all melted and all the trees are budding!

It's only March 1st and winter weather generally runs to the end of April here. When all those buds are frozen again, will the trees put out new ones?  Or will there be no leaves?

Edited to add..I do already know that the buds are already there, through the winter.  But this is ACTIVE budding.  I mean, to seeing them scattered all over the ground under the trees already.  Sights that are usually seen at the end of April, early May
