This is the brand I decided on for the cats and Lacy dog.
Proviable contains a source of live (viable) naturally occurring probiotic microorganisms. Proviable contains multiple species and billions of beneficial microorganisms per daily administration. The Proviable-KP paste contains ingredients to help firm stool. The Proviable-DC capsules continue to help reestablish healthy intestinal balance. Added prebiotics, found in both formulations, encourage growth of the Proviable beneficial microorganisms within the intestinal tract.

I was looking for keywords ... probiotic, prebiotics, billion +, etc.
Now, I just need to find something similar in a generic or store brand. 7 capsules a day adds up FAST. Silly7

Well I did a search of those specific ingredients, and came up with this search:
https://www.google.com/#q=Enterococcus+faecium%2C+Bifidobacterium+bifidum%2C+Enterococcus+thermophilus%2C+Lactobacillus+acidophilus%2C+Lactobacillus+bulgaricus%2C+Lactobacillus+casei%2C+Lactobacillus+plantarum

Mazy cat takes a proviable dc every night. She gets S boulardii in the morning.

I've seen people post that they sprinkle probiotics on their pets' food. Does it have to be sprinkled? Jenkins just ripped one off from the counter, and ate it whole. He is QUICK!
-
No, but the sprinklers say that their pets won't take pills. Easier solution.
There are a lot of probiotic sprinkles out there now that work on changing the chemistry in the mouth and help keep teeth clean too.
This is just one of those products: http://www.evoraoralprobiotics.com/evora-pet-oral-probiotic/

I just mix it right in. Queen Eva has been known to steal an empty proviable capsule if I leave it on the counter.

I just mix it right in.
I did the same with Pookie's probiotic. It was a powder and I just mixed it into his wet food.

They don't list their ingredients. My cats don't care if their teeth are white. I don't trust products that make amazing results claims and don't list ingredients. Do you use this Dee? Are the ingredients listed on the jar?

When you use their search bar for "ingredients," these results come up: http://www.evoraoralprobiotics.com/?s=ingredients
When you scroll down to the bottom, you'll see all of them on either the right or the left. I wouldn't use it b/c of the Soy Protein Isolate, but I was just showing this brand (b/c it came up first in Google) as an example of the fact that they're putting out probiotics as tooth cleaners, and it has to be sprinkled on top to do that. I wasn't recommending anything because I don't use any of them.
There are a lot more brands.

I was sprinkling the Proviable on top of their food. After Jenkins stole one and ate it whole, I put the entire capsule in everyone's food...to see if they would eat it whole. They all did.

The gel cap is good for them too! :)

Thanks for that info. They all now eat the whole thing. :)

As you would expect, probiotics are especially beneficial for cats with any type of digestive problem, including vomiting, hairballs, diarrhea, constipation, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Yes. The IBD raw feeding roup I belong to has tons of files on probiotics. I stick to what I have been using for the past 3 years or so.
Jennie and Queen Eva take Natural Factors double strength:

once a day
Mazy cat takes Nutricology S Boulardii in the morning

(about 1/3 capsule because it tastes very bad and she won't eat her food with more than that)
and the proviable at bedtime, mixed in her food.

I was giving it hit and miss. Yes, I am ashamed of myself. I bumped this thread and added Dr. Hofve's opinion to remind myself (and others) the importance of probiotics. With my bunch being previously fed kibble, some of them being older, Roxy's tummy issues, Lucy's poop issues... all the more reason to be consistent.

I was able to put this product on Auto Ship at Chewy.com 2 boxes (80 ct) once a month and free shipping. :)
