Does this supplement look ok for cats?
« on: March 25, 2014, 11:43:00 AM »
I picked this up at my specialty pet store (I needed a probiotic but couldn't remember what I was originally using), but now I'm wondering if I should return it.  This claims it's for dogs and cats:

Thoughts?

Keep it. The ingredients for dogs (top right sidebar):

Is exactly the same for cats:

I really don't think it matters which one you get, and you can't overdose on any of those things even if the amounts are different between the 2 formulations.

Thanks, Dee.  I guess I was wondering about the digestive enzymes.  For example, does a cat really need cellulase?

(pause)

Just read the reviews on the website.  Hmm . . . maybe it couldn't hurt . . .  Still open to others' thoughts/opinions, though.   :-* HeadButt

I think it will be fine.  Whenever I ask my vet about probiotics, she usually shrugs and says, "couldn't hurt".  She doesn't even ask which ones I'm wanting to give.  According to her perspective, there hasn't ever been any (documented) detrimental side effects of giving animals any kind of probiotics.
