They have had cricket snacks before. I normally put them in the bathtub...thanks to AC's suggestion.
But not everyone is interested in being in the bathtub alone or with other cats. And some won't get OUT of the bathtub, to give others a chance.
This time, I got small crickets. They were reallllly small. The size of a pencil eraser. I didn't know they would be THAT small, until after they were put in a bag for me. It worked out though.
I put crickets in each of their bowls. The bowls are wide and about 1/4 inch deep. The crickets just jumped around, but not out.
Not everyone is interested in eating them. Jenkins who eats ANYTHING...with GUSTO... hides. Roxy prefers them as toys. Arrows...gotta keep an eye on him, or he will eat them all.
I think it would be better to stay with the large crickets and just turn them loose.
They don't get crickets very often because 1. I don't go to PetCo very often. 2. Have to feed them when hubby isn't home. The crunching sound, of live crickets, is too much for him.
Although, there is a lot less crunching noise with small crickets.
