Evanger recall, pentobarbital found in "one lot" of dog food
« on: February 05, 2017, 10:06:41 AM »
http://truthaboutpetfood.com/evangers-pet-food-recall/

What is interesting about this recall is that Susan Thixton has been reporting on the case for a week or more and taking a lot, a TON, of grief over it from Evanger advocates.  Post after post on her FB page vilifying her for posting "fake news" about this issue.

And lo and behold...here comes the official recall.  And not a peep out of those Evanger fans now.

Yeah. I posted it in Dog Food Ingredients the night she started posting it because they were still denying anything, and all Evangers was testing for was for things like salmonella, listeria, etc. It's been a while since I posted that too.

A bit more info on Evangers and their shady practices

Did you read the comments below that article? There are some truly oblivious people in this world.

Remember their electricity scam?

Rachel Ray had a story on them. I guess maybe they manufacture her food for her?

Wish I could find that other video that was in something like either 60 Minutes or 48 Hours a few years ago.

I read some.  I remember when I first started learning about the pet food industry.  I was VERY skeptical when reading some of the truthful comments and info.  What goes on within the PFI is just beyond unbelievable.  The info was just SO overwhelming.

I am VERY thankful to the people that posted the same info over and over and over.  It took some time to sink in...

Yep

tip of the ice berg

Incidentally TAPF reports that a civilian who works for a pet store has sent a can in for independent testing, to find out exactly what kind of meat is actually in these foods. Evangers has had problems with THAT before too (lying about the meat content)

Evanger’s to Expand Pet Food Recall Amid Horse Meat

Snip...

Suspicious of how pentobarbital made it into their meat supply, Evanger’s sent the pet food out for genetic species analysis, and admitted in a letter sent to customers yesterday (see below), that they were “dismayed by the results which showed positive for equine DNA and beef DNA,” despite an earlier statement by the FDA that testing of Evanger’s Hunk of Beef dog food by USDA-FSIS confirmed the meat used in the product was beef.

I wouldn't believe a word coming out of that organization.  Not one.  With the exception: if they came out and said, "you are all correct, we lied, we haven't ever used the meat we claimed to, our food has been junk all along."

Truth About Pet Food
6 hrs

Need help from independent store owners of what foods are manufactured by Evangers.

Here is what I've compiled thus far...
Weruva Kobe pates, Tripett, Party Animal/Cocolicious, Wild Calling in gator, buffalo and rabbit only, some Addiction, Artemis, some Dave’s, Feline Caviar and I think Pet Tao.

Can store owners and pet owner that have confirmed information please help with this list?

Those are other brands that use Evangers factories to make their food.

Many of those foods were in our rotation at one time.  Dave's brings back some not so good memories....

Further recalls on Evanger's, and not one tiny bit of responsibility do they take.  What a sob story!
