I ordered  five cases of Organix from Chewy.  They couldn't tell me expire dates before shipping, but assured me I could return the cases if the dates were not good. The five cases of food consists of 3 with an expire date of May, and 2 for September. Given that, with what I already have, and these five, it's enough food to last through September, there is no paint in buying more, as I suspect September is as good as it's gong to get.

I will keep looking for a decent canned, but whatever I find, I expect she'll be back on predominately raw by then, and home cooked, if not before. Because there just isn't any commercial processed food that is appropriate for her.

She does well on the Organix though I do miss her silky raw-fed coat.It plushes out more on the canned, but isn't as soft. I noticed that last time she went on all canned for a period of time, ironically, just 3 years ago almost exactly.

Queen Eva conveniently had a nice pee and poop this morning before breakfast so I got a new weight. She's up to 6 pounds 10 ounces! bananamiddlechild

Also, she's starting to use the perch at random times. She likes it as an after meal spot. She has a good scratch on the scratcher then washes her face.

No worries, thanks for the update!  Sorry about the Organix, but at least the vet is on board with your treatment plan.

Take care and get some rest this weekend!

Last weigh in 6 lbs 8 ounces.  Just talked to the vet and she has agreed to my proposed treatment plan. Continue with the pred every other day and monitor. Hold off on diagnostics. She doesn't want to prescribe pain meds right now, wants me to try again with the cosequin.

Bad news the Organix canned food she is doing so well on has been discontinued.

Vet wants to see her in a couple of weeks so she has an appointment on the 18th, but I can cancel the specialist trip, yay.

Sorry so brief but I'm wiped out. Tax collection is upon us lol. I'll be back to my loquacious self on the weekend and an update on the perch.  Hug1 Hug1 Hug1

Ah, I see I did already start the story about the new TV. Well here's the next installment.

The new perches I built for her today, side view, desk view, front view. Everything used is stuff I already have in the house. Half the time creating is spent rummaging in baggies and the tool box to find the right sized screws lol.  Both shelves are from the kitchen, back when I tore apart and rebuilt that side counter/cupboard/draw unit. I knew I had at least two shelf brackets, though they don't match, and the shelves (also made by me many years ago, and also from scrap wood)  in the middle helped support things too.

I went for step-shelves so she can get on and off them easily from the desk. Though I suspect, at least at first, she might continue to jump down the far side off the edge of the table. That's how she used to get down, when it was just the big TV there.

I'd like to cover the shelves, for her comfort. I like the look of plain wood but she might like something she can scratch on, plus a soft spot to curl up..

She hasn't found it yet.
