EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE, but who the hell came up with this recipe for treatment of kidney disease?
Brewers Rice, Pork Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Dried Egg Product, Flaxseed, Corn Gluten Meal, Chicken Liver Flavor, Powdered Cellulose?
The tragedy is that this the kind of food that most dogs with kidney disease get fed under the name of science.... I will never recommend this this junk even if I was threatened to lose my license./quote]

It's disheartening that so many are "prescribed" that junk when more healthy alternatives are out there. Even if they're eating crunchy stuff with all the nutrients cooked to death and rendered useless, it should at least be NATURAL ingredients.

Who the heck ever decided that eating the cellulose from pine trees was natural for beast and man? I seriously doubt any entomologist is going to tell us that the termite's natural diet is what's best for those of us with 2 and 4 legs.

I was STUNNED... and impressed... he posted that comment.  The PFI will not be happy that the brain washing has worn off.

I'm impressed too that he's taking them on publicly. Not stunned though. I've talked to him in Twitter, and he's all about what's best for the animals. He has no problems telling people that either--well as long as it's not a public argument with another vet. I don't think he'll get into that.

Stunned because there is an unspoken rule that practicing vets may not "dog" RX so-called foods.
