I have to correct myself as I misunderstood SO. She was not quite 5 pounds 11/11/2017 and came in at 10.4 yesterday. Still skinny and a bad eater but seems to get less easily distracted when eating which is good.
To answer the question - most of it seems to be fur. Just check my desk after she is done doing her self assigned dusting job.

GENERAL CAT CARE / Re: Jennie has been diagnosed with carcinoma (cancer)

Jennie has gained an ounce and a half under my tender care. bananamiddlechild

I'm going to my sister's today and I didn't realize until last night it's going to affect the timing of her gabapentin. I pushed it to half an hour later last night and almost an hour this morning, because jno matter how I arrange my timing, she's going to have to go 9 hours again.

Shes on the first 24 hours of her piroxicam, hopefully that will help.

Then back on track.

Vet has approved the use of sub q fluids but cautions it could mask kidney damage, if it's happening, so I am to watch her drinking and peeing habits closely. Jennie doesn't drink at all so if I see her at the water bowl I will know something is up. And of course I already do watch her pee habits.

I've been thinking about Misa lately, too.  How's she doing?

Izzi and Bizzi are back from the vet. Vet is very happy that we feed wet and have play time. Yes, she is Maine Coon with a bit of road warrior. 7.5 pounds!!!!!

Issues Of Concern / Stop using palm oil -banned ad

This brand (Iceland is the brand) ad was banned in the UK as "too political". Actually it's more about money than politics, obviously.  I never gave palm oil a thought before.

Now I am.

GENERAL CAT CARE / Re: Mazy cat's arthritis
« Last post by Middle Child on November 08, 2018, 07:25:55 PM »
Mazy cat has a MAT.  I'm posting this in her arthritis thread because mats along the spine are not uncommon in cats with arthritis.  This is because they have trouble bending and reaching certain spots.  But with the amount of activity Mazy cat shows, and her ability to leap and fly around, I never dreamed she might be having trouble reaching certain spots on her body for washing.

Mazy cat has those mats again.  I was surprised to see that last eyar they showed up in August,. I thought it was a cold weather thing. But she didn't get any this summer, only just finding the start of them now.  Again in her thick ruff around her neck and two down her back, one on her spine and one on her right hip.

They are just starting, barely mats at all yet, just thickened fur, but the areas there are flaky too like last time.  I've worked the spots good with my fingers and then, much to her displeasure, kind of held her in place and put the comb through them.

You may remember how curly her fur actually is underneath!

The way I understood it... all the emails, consultations, and such just got to be too much.  I am not surprised.  She is a busy woman, without the website.  I am glad FOR HER that she took a step back.
