Hare-Today
« on: March 16, 2019, 10:59:01 AM »
Surprised there isn't a Hare-Today thread already in here.  Anyway, putting it in the cat section because I feed more cats.  Silly7

Hare-Today now has SOME grinds that are 80/10/10.  A person doesn't have to add more meat to their bone, meat, and organ grinds.

I think there are only two proteins that are currently available this way.  Chicken is one.

For people that are interested in feeding raw, this is an easy peasy way to start.  The texture is similar to canned.  Less change for the cats.  IMHO

Do they have boneless options?

Incidentally 10% bone is often too high for many cats. there is a way to dilute:

Yes, there are boneless options.  I add the boneless to their grinds that are meat, bone, and organ.... that are nowhere close to 80/10/10.
I agree about 10% often being too much bone.  Out of 6 cats, 10% bone gives two issues.  It also helps to NOT feed just Hare-Today products.

I use this calculator.  Basically the same as yours, but takes a person RIGHT to a calculator.

PS
I also sometimes JUST feed all boneless.  Yes, I add liver and supplements EVERY time.  :) Alnutrin for boneless meats.  https://www.knowwhatyoufeed.com/shop.php

I don't know the exact time span, but for a time, I fed the Hare-Today grinds... not knowing that they weren't 80/10/10.  Sooooo, the new grinds that are 80/10/10 (with at least 5% organ being liver), the new grinds are a very good thing!

Ashlee (daughter of owner) that has taken over Hare-Today... has made some GREAT changes!

PS again...  Silly7
I have found that people that ARE interested in raw feeding, seem to make the change MUCH faster if it is easy to do so.  Can't get much easier then 80/10/10 grinds!  Not the cheapest route, by any means, but it is easy and balanced

Good to add the direct link thanks Lola.  Love all your other posts about it too.

Secreting organ should be 10%, with at least 5% liver.

Like you I prefer to fed a rotation of sources/methods.

THAT is why I don't like to post "helpful" info... I screw up critical details!   Doh1  Thanks for catching that.
