Thanks for the update! I smiled at the anal glands being expressed.  It's a good idea, having it done when they are under, isn't it?  If needed anyway.

The surgical approval form had several things listed that I could choose to have done while she was out.  Anal glands was an option listed.  I figured the more they could check and take care of (if needed) while she was out... the better.

How's Lola-cat been feeling since her dental?  Is she back to her usual self?   HeadButt HeadButt

She is back to normal, if not better.  She hasn't chased anyone, while hissing and growling.  It was pretty much a daily thing before.

Can a vet TRULY know what is going on with a cat's teeth with no x-rays?

That's what I was wondering about. Why no x-rays?

Our previous vet gave pain meds, but no antibiotics.  When I asked about pain meds, I was told she was given a super duper shot of pain meds already and should be fine.  I have a high tolerance to pain yet I still have been known to take something OTC when having a tooth pulled.

I wasn't told if she had any resorption issues going on either.  She did last dental.

I don't know.  Vet didn't do x rays on Mazy either though I approved them in advance "if needed".  I'd be concerned about that "pain shot" and ask if it was metacam.  The metacam shot is a once in a life time thing, it's something you need to know, if she's ever had it.

Glad there is no more chasing and hissing.

I wish I knew. The vet didn't talk to me.  What little info I did get was from (I assume) a Vet Tech and my bill.

No Metacam, MC.  THANK GOODNESS!

I didn't get to talk t my vet on the first day either.  I waited until I was sure Mazy was all right then I started calling and leaving voicemails until my vet called me back and caught me at home.  I had my list of questions ready. :)

Well... I just can't imagine an MD not speaking TO the parent of a child.  I would have been a bit less bummed if the person that brought her out to me, hadn't been clueless.
