Donating Kibble
« on: March 05, 2018, 10:21:32 PM »
If I wanted to donate kibble (that is what the dog rescue feeds)... any recommendations?
I know things can change and change fast... so recommendations today, might not be the same a month from now.
Training treats?

It has been just toooooo long, since I fed kibble... or any commercial foods.  I am SO out of the loop, about what brand might be the least icky.

To make recommendations a bit more difficult... I am ANTI-PURINA!   Silly7

I'd get Taste of the Wild. Most dogs love it, and it's usually an upgrade for them. Made by Diamond, but it's not like Purina. That's what Dannyboy ate.

If you want an upgrade from that, Wellness.

Unless you can find some Victor. I know a lot of show people that feed Victor, but you can't always find it unless you order.

My debit card will probably melt, when it realizes I am buying kibble.  ;)

How about a gift card to the local pet store.  Then you don't have to buy the kibble.

I ordered via Amazon.  I marked the items as gifts.  It showed that if I didn't write a message, my name wouldn't be on the gift receipt anywhere.  :)

I bought Taste Of The Wild.  If it was good enough for DannyBoy...

BTW Amazon does have Victor kibble.

DeeDee,
Don't you keep kibble on hand (or a brand in your head) for emergencies?

One of the few things I could get picky-butt Barkly to eat was Nature's Variety Instinct. If there was an emergency, I'd have to go get that because I'd have absolutely no chance of getting him to eat anything else. He was already picky enough before. Danny would pick at that for some reason.

Danny also didn't really like Halo either that was Barkly's 2nd choice. I'm not sure if there was something in them that was another allergen for him or what. Dannyboy never turned down any of the Taste of the Wild flavors though. I was so glad when that came out because before that, there wasn't much except Natural Balance for allergy dogs.

I thought about buying a variety of flavors, but decided to just stick to one flavor.  Bison and Venison.  I had to make a choice, without too much thinking.  lol.
