I have family on the West coast areas of Florida...that were originally safe areas.  Once they were informed Irma wasn't going to be doing what was expected...too late to evacuate.  Barely enough time to make preparations. 
I'm keeping in touch with them... so far. 

I just can't imagine living in fear for hours and hours and hours.  The worst hasn't even happened yet!

Family all went to one person's home... the one highest above sea level.  That home weathered the storm.  No electricity, but they are all glad to be safe.  I can't imagine....
