Former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, the man at the center of a child sex abuse scandal that has upended the university and led to the firing of its iconic football coach, admitted tonight he “horsed around” with boys in the shower but denied molesting them and declared he is not a pedophile.
“I say that I am innocent of those charges,” Sandusky told NBC News’ Bob Costas in a phone interview. The interview aired tonight on the television show “Rock Center with Brian Williams.”
Sandusky, 67, who is free on $100,000 bail, acknowledged he did “some of those things” outlined in a graphic grand jury report released last week, but he insisted the actions were not sexual in nature.
