Title: Azodyl and Chronic Kidney Disease

Lisa from IBD kitties sent me this, she also commented that one of her members has used this and this was her experience

"Azodyl has done WONDERS for my 20yr old. I started her on it 2 years ago, when she had already become somnolent and a little azotemic from her renal insufficiency. Using it only 1x per day twice a week made a huge difference--her lab values normalized and she became peppy again. At 20, she gets it once a day and is doing fabulously [the product dosing says 1 capsule 3x/day so I have lots of 'room' yet should her labs worsen. This stuff is not cheap, but it is worth MY weight in gold for kitties with renal issues. Please tell your readers though that it is CRITICAL to pay for the stuff to be shipped ON ICE or they might as well flush the money--it MUST be kept cold"

Hello Shadow & Mum,
Yes, I have!
I watched the video from Dr. Karen Becker DVM.

Yes, I have heard of Azodyl from IBD kitties in my newsletters.
I clicked on the link you gave me to this site!

http://www.vetdepot.com/azodyl.html?catID=253&Attribs=30+32

It is a little bit on the high pricey side, but if it works in her best interest then it will be of benefit for Kidney's

They have it in the capsule form & in a powder form too.

I would have to ask her Vet what gm would be best.
Then again, the Vets where I go may not be so up on this product as they sell their own?
I can try! Don't need a prescription.

http://www.vetdepot.com/epakitin-300-gm.html

This powders form is from the same Co. that mfg.

This is a powder form I can sprinkle on her food juss like the same Co. that makes
L- Lysine powder that I give to Kally Kat for her 2nd wet meal for her kitty herpes URI.

I don't know how to upload an image of the L-Lysine powder jar that I have?

I'm not sure which grams to get for her the 100 –gm or the 500-gm?

I have been spending 2 full days on looking for help with Kally's latest findings,  :( it's becoming to much for me to handle & I need help !

Went to Tanya's website, very informative & yes, overwhelming .

Shadow do you know which thread here, all about CKD?
I'm trying to locate it, as I remember I was reading some of the posts.

Thank you Shadow for your love & support!

♥Kally Kat♥ & Mom Liz

Hi Kally Kat, im not sure where that thread is, lol! I think I asked you where you found that thread in an email I sent you. maybe Lola can help us find it?
Please dont overwhelm yourself, try to keep calm, you are doing your best, and that is all you can do.
just be patient, and take it one day at a time. I know you are worried for your Kally but you have to stay calm for her.
I give Wilson L-lysine too, he gets almost the whole tablet mixed in with his food (500 mg)

Also did you think of adding a phosphrous binder (just some cooked egg white for now) depending on what Kallys phosphrous levels are?

Evening Shadow & furriends,

I called the Vet's office today & asked them to send me all the labs results & they said they will! thumbsup1

I know I'm very worried & scared, but I'm so grateful you told me about this wonderful site! CatPurr
Learning a litta more each day as I read great places to go for information!

When I get the results in the mail I then, can show you what's going on in her body.
I'm going to make that 2 month follow - up visit with her regular Vet & she how Kally Is doing!
You know I will inform you & furriends here!  :)

It's good that you give Wilson his L - lysine powder, Kally Kat gets her every day!

Thank you for all your love & support !

Oh, I gotta try those cooked egg whites like Gump's Mom did...

Gump was a most bootiful litta mancat God bless him!

I'll be back soon !

Nite nite for now, Mum Tina & furkids  CatHug
