Title: Resume, please, and your Facebook password

Since the rise of social networking, it has become common for managers to review publically available Facebook profiles, Twitter accounts and other sites to learn more about job candidates. But many users, especially on Facebook, have their profiles set to private, (private  funny2) making them available only to selected people or certain networks.
Companies that don't ask for passwords have taken other steps — such as asking applicants to friend human resource managers or to log in to a company computer during an interview. Once employed, some workers have been required to sign non-disparagement agreements that ban them from talking negatively about an employer on social media.

Can I have your Facebook password?

Ya, for $10,000. I don't know you, I might not even get the job. Tell ya what, you give me your password, I want to know, what kind of person, I will be working for, and when I have checked "you" out, and *if* I get hired, well then, yes, you can have it.

Note to Bump:

change your password

Somebody tells me I need to "friend" somebody, or even be on that site, they ain't somebody I'd do too well working for, IMO.

Applied for a job before beginning present one -- knew the guys, they assured me I was "in".  However instead of sending me for the standard drug test, he asked for my email address.  :o

Although the most he was going to find was some Pet Food stuff (from back when I didn't know any better),  it was a pretty much a foregone conclusion that somebody else had that position in the bag already.

Something like 87% (it was a HUGE number) of employers check Facebook accounts, Google, etc. on job applicants.

Which would be part of the reason I use a pseudonym on Facebook and have no pictures of me on there.

And this is where I say.... I don't have a Facebook account (https://parenting-furkids.com/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ak49bwl.com%2Fforum%2FSmileys%2Fdefault%2Fdunno.gif&hash=6448a9cd9438a6107e9396620d576c9f40a76d4a)

Cuz if I were to take my image down, that private page could belong to anyone... Anywhere.

And seriously, if I can't get a job over not having a facebook account... Wth has this world come to?????

They are only paying you, for 9-5, so if they want to control you, beyond that time, then they need to pay you for it.   >:(
