Today is Mazy cat's Dental with other procedures also
« on: July 11, 2016, 08:44:06 AM »
Ugh! Now that she's got her appetite back, thanks to the bone broth and Cornish hen, she can't understand why I will not feed her this morning, though I have told her why.

I ran out of pain meds at 3:30 am because I had to give it to her every 5 1/2 hours instead of every six, so I drove up there this morning as soon as their doors opened and got an extra (not without an argument)

She is doing so much better I mean SO MUCH better that I am inclined to thing that there was some infection in there also, and the Baytril that she is taking for her bacterial UTI (diagnosed with a urinalysis) is working on something in her mouth too.

Or maybe it's just because I've increased the frequency of the pain meds so the pain doesn't have a chance to grab hold.

Well, it's only a few more hours until we know what's going on in there.

Last night in the middle of the night she brought up THREE of her Solitary Game caps, singing away with each one.  THREE!  She hasn't played this Game in weeks, because of mouth pain obviously.

I'll update this tread as soon as I know more.

PS really glad I went up there this morning, some kind of construction going on in the parking lot.  At least now I am prepared for that, rather than coming upon it unaware at 11 a.m. when I am all stressed out with Mazy cat in the car.

She's home! Staggering around, or was, had some bone broth, growled a lot. Jennie bumped noses and sniffed but did not growl or hiss at the vet smell!! I think that is because I wipe the carrier with feliway.  Mazy cat accepted Jennie's nose kiss, but when Queen Eva approached Mazy cat growled at her something fierce and Queen eva back ed off.

They are all on the porch for the moment.

Ummm. . .what happened with the dental itself?

Thanks Dee, all went okay.  No problem areas were found, but she's been on antibiotics for a UTI, and I suspect the antibiotics cleared up whatever was bothering her.  Her ears turned out to be fine (raw diet and the ACV I am positive is what has stopped her ear problems) and she had her anal glands expressed and the x rays I requested.

The dental x rays showed no resorptive lesions starting and her body x rays showed nothing unusual either.

Last night she was extremely annoyed by being so clumsy and stumbly, this morning she is all back to normal and I have started her supplements back up, and will reintroduce her raw meals slowly.

She is eating with such enjoyment, she must be so happy to be able to eat without pain again.

Mazy cat has rediscovered her inner kitten. SHE IS A PLAYING MANIAC! No toy is safe, no cat is safe, no mother is safe, from her Games and Jokes.

And her appetite?  She sez "Bring it on!"

Mazy cat is still finding it a joyful novelty to eat without mouth pain.  I have started her slowly back on her raw food. Considering I switched right to canned from raw with no gradual change, and it didn't upset her digestion, I think I don't have to go too slowly, but I am also adding the supplements so it's going to take a couple weeks for her to be fully raw again I think.

I am...exhausted. funny2

Thanks for the compliments you guys.  False modesty aside, I have to say that yeah, I did a pretty good job taking care of her and keeping her from losing even more.  She lost 10 ounces all together through this.

finger is still sore.  I need to start soaking it again but I keep forgetting.

Mazy cat can YAWN again.  You know the first few days I noticed her yawns were still hesitant and I thought now what the heck?  But I think she was just afraid to yaw because it would hurt.  Today she is yawning great big huge satisfying yawns.  I'm going to go through any videos I might have of her over the last few weeks and see if I caught her yawning on any of them so I can compare. Not tonight though.
