Title: 11 Years
Post by: CarnivorousCritter on September 11, 2012, 08:19:24 AM
Was living & working NY at the time.      Think this tribute is best I can come to paying tribute (they wouldn't let me volunteer, toooo many people already. Took over an hour just to get through on the phone to put my name in!).

Somebody had run up to Billy Joel's Piano wanting to grab the fire hat to clean it 'cause it had soot on it and he (Billy) said "Don't touch that!" (paraphrasing.)

He sounds great!  Thanks for sharing, MC.

This is what I heard driving in to work this morning, in memory of that day:

May those who were lost that day, and in the days after, rest in peace, and my deepest sympathies to those left behind.  grouphug

This song was released in the late 80's, but it's one of my favorites (I'm a huge Sting fan) and I've always thought it was appropriate for 9/11 as well.  Sting also performed it at the 2002 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony in Utah.

Last one, and for those who are not religious, no offense intended.

Billy Joel's song has QUITE a story behind it!  I dont do so good with copy and paste, on an iPad, so Google it.  Freaky.

Never heard Alan Jackson's song...very touching.

Nice tributes.
