Feeling blue

FurMonster Mom:

My girlfriend had to take one of her dogs to the rainbow bridge today.

This was a dog that I've known since they brought her and her sister home from the shelter as pups 10 years ago.
Last Friday, she collapsed from a bulging disk that paralyzed her back legs. 
After 3 full days of muscle relaxants and steroids, she did not recover.

Rather than prolong her suffering, they made the heartbreaking decision to let her go.
I sat with them this afternoon, as they said their last good-byes;

Remembering the hikes, the puppy sittings, the dinners with puppies underfoot...
I'm feeling kinda blue.

Middle Child:
Oh I'm so sorry your friend is going through this.  I'm  sure it hurts as much as if the dog was yours. They did well by, not making her linger and suffer.
