The Creepiness Of Social Media
« on: July 13, 2018, 02:42:45 PM »
Quote
On Tuesday, two young, attractive strangers met on a plane and seemed to hit it of in conversation.

Quote
In the series of Instagram stories and tweets posted early Tuesday morning, Texan actress Rosey Blair recorded what many believed to be the formation of a budding romance. Blair took to her Twitter account to explain that by switching seats with another passenger, she might have accidentally made a love connection between two strangers.

In a nutshell, two strangers meet on an airplane flight and apparently make a connection.
A 3rd person Tweets their every move and everything she can hear them saying.  At one point, she gets a picture of the "couple."  Not their faces...according to another article.  The male of the airplane "couple" is okay with all the attention.  The female is not.  How anyone knew who they were, without pictures... I haven't been able to figure out.

The person doing all the Tweeting and recording, didn't think about her actions as invading someone's privacy.  She did delete Tweets and apologize to the female.  That was impressive for this day and time.  IMHO

At least the Twitter person apologized.  On the FLIP side, read this:  http://parenting-furkids.com/index.php?topic=6107.new#new

I saw that going on the whole time. It WAS creepy. People now think they have the right to video/photo anyone, anywhere at any time, and it's just NOT okay.

She had enough of the information about the 2, and enough in the photos for someone to determine who they were.  Just creepy.

Yeah, she was nice to apologize, but it still should have entered her head that what she was doing was NOT okay.

Years ago, I was NEVER without a camera.  I never took pictures of, unknown to me, people.  If I THOUGHT a person thought I was taking their picture, because I had the camera focused in their general direction...I would explain to the person that they weren't in the picture.  However, the way things are today...  the Tweeter person being younger... I was VERY impressed she deleted and apologized!  It didn't change what happened, but at least she did what she COULD do.  IMHO

I can't read the story without turning off my adblock and I'm not going to do it. I can probably find it somewhere else

I pretty much covered the basics....

You can read a lot of it at:  https://twitter.com/search?q=%23PlaneBae&src=tyah

Maybe you can read some of the articles posted in there.

What happens to not invading someone's personal space?

A couple of years back I had a client insisting on hand written and snail mailed when information was confidential.

I apparently don't think the "rules" apply to everyone, because I found this video funny.
The couple asked the female if she would move over one seat, and she wouldn't.  So they had fun with taking selfies and such.... with her in the middle.

THAT is WONDERFUL!   Who acts like that? Refusing to move one seat over so two people can sit together. Seriously?
