Dinner Guest...

This picture is more funny, if you could see that there are several people at the dinner table also.  I felt it best to cut them out... privacy issues.

Speaking of dinner tables...
We had that table for more years then I can remember.  Hubby wanted one of those bar height tables for a looooong time.  When my mother passed away, we "traded" our table for her bar height table.  Goodwill picked it up.

Cats love the new table!  We HATE it.

Old table seated 8 people.  We could add 4 more chairs, and everyone still be fairly comfortable.
Bar height table seats 6.  We could add two more chairs, but who has spare bar height chairs!  The bar stools, at the counter, are much shorter.
New table also has permanent seat cushions... cat hair big time!  More work.  I bought covers and remove them when we have guests.

We went to a few Goodwill places... hoping to buy our old table back.  No luck.   Silly7

Awww!

Oh no, I guess hind sight being 20 20 you should have kept the other table until you were sure you liked the new one.

Don't know what a bar height table is though. You have to have high tall chairs too?  Sounds very uncomfortable to me!

PS I knew that was Arrows before I saw the title of the pic.  HeadButt

SO ordered the short legs for the bar stools when we moved. Worked well. No clue what happened to the tall ones two moves ago. We do have four chairs with backs ( hefty) and two without (now hallway and bathroom).

It's missing the little bubble over his head for his thoughts:  So . . . when do we eat and what's for dinner?   Silly7

Foxi, my parents Turkish Van foundling, would sit on a chair at the table, tail hanging down prim and proper and wait for my father to give him a bit of ham from his plate. They had a ritual worked out around that.

Arrows used to sit in a chair, all nice like that.  However, he was so darn cute, we would give him food from our plates.  He no longer sits nice anymore.  We created a beggar.  If we don't share... he steals.
We think it is funny.  Yeah, we reward bad behavior... Silly7

UPDATE:

After looking for months and months, we have decided to have someone make us a table and chairs.  Price is just a bit more then a thrift store table/chairs that isn't what we really want.  Price is much LESS then tables/chairs we found that we did like.

Picture of table before it is stained.

This is a custom made table to fit the high chairs?

Cool!

I edited my post.

We are having a table and chairs made by the same person.  They are "regular" height.  Our bar height table and chairs will be going to a new home.  :)

Nice!  The cats will be disappointed that the bar height table is being replaced.   Silly7

I think you will enjoy this table for a long time and over time it will gain patina as in scratches, rubs, memories:>)
