The Voice

Tonight, Team Christina WRECKED the house!

First Christina sang this:

Then Matthew Schuler sang "Wrecking Ball" for the next to the last song of the night. You know I'd never even listened to that song before b/c it's a Miley song.

Then 16-yo Jacquie Lee sang "I Put A Spell On You" for the last song of the night and absolutely killed the rest of the competition. I hope she can keep it up.

"Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog; but you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."

Those videos were enjoyable!  Thanks.

I did listen to Miley singing Wrecking Ball.  Ew.  I realllllly enjoyed Matthew Schuler.  I think he sounded much better.  But... I may have liked him better because he is very handsome, dressed nicely, and no sleaze factor going on.

Jacquie Lee sure can belt out a song!  I wonder how, someone that young, picks a song....way before her time (yeck, before MY time) to sing?

Like Christina said, she's got an old soul. Something about her performance (not voice) reminded me of watching Janis Joplin perform decades ago.

When she was singing Amy Winehouse for the auditions, I actually thought no one was going to turn around for her.

I like this James Wolpert guy too:

He sounded better than Jack White's original version.

He's a computer geek too.

I really liked his battle round:

And I really loved him in his head-to-head round:

But he's got a really soulful, quite side too--this was this week on the live show. I love the way you watch him feeling the song no matter what he's singing. I was surprised he picked Joni Mitchell, but I loved it anyway:
