Title: Think A Chain-Link Fence Will Keep Your Dogs Safe. . .
Post by: DeeDee on February 26, 2018, 10:50:41 PM
Think A Chain-Link Fence Will Keep Your Dogs Safe. . .from coyotes? Think again. This photo was posted in a local (to me) FB group, and the guy said he didn't know where it was taken, just that it was in a hunting group he belongs to somewhere. Things like this (and human thieves like the Mid-Tenn dog-theft ring) are why our dogs are never outside alone.

That is a pretty short fence, BUT they can also jump 6 foot block walls.  It has happened in my neighborhood.

 :o

Slightly off-topic, at least regarding fences . . .

A few years ago, woman down the road from me let her Chihuahua out to do his business.  Her property backs up to a wildlife management area.  She didn't realize the dog was being watched until a coyote ran out of the woods, grabbed the dog and ran back into the woods.  They never found the dog.   :(

The other night, the running pack was close enough to our backyard that it had Vlad going off in a hissy fit and shoving Barkly back away from the fence in his this-is-my-problem-so-get-the-heck-out-of-my-way-and-let-me-handle-it mode. They don't seem to like his bark at least because you could hear them actually running faster.
