I can't comprehend such cruelty
« on: December 10, 2015, 04:16:31 PM »

One cat missing an eye, the other a leg.  Both declawed "for their own safety".  Owned by a vet tech.

Quote
This is the story about Winki the one-eyed kitten. Winki was just 4 paw declawed because of false beliefs about this horrific procedure.
Winki’s mom works in the veterinary profession at a "Cat Friendly" AAFP, AAHA clinic in the Midwest. She also has another kitty who has only 3 legs and is also declawed, and said that it was in the best interest when they play/fight, that Winki get ALL her toes amputated too. She actually said, “ My main worry were the claws hurting my other beings, she is already down a leg to help her in any battles.”

Check this out the Canadian Medically Unnecessary Veterinary Surgery: Okay to declaw cats, considered professional misconduct to declaw other animals.  Do cats feel less pain?  Of course not.  But vets make huge huge profits on the surgery.

The New York Bill A1297 is coming up in January. If you sign petitions, please do.

Please share around, also.  City The Kitty's post:

That was dated in January 2015. It's not upcoming?
"In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semihuman. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog." Edward Hoagland
"Thorns may hurt you, men desert you, sunlight turn to fog; but you're never friendless ever, if you have a dog."

Next Month.  The bill was introduced last January. But there's been no action on it yet.

Declawing makes me SICK!  Just hearing the word makes my stomach knot up.
Even when I thought it was "just" permanently removing their nails... I thought it was wrong.

I signed the petition.  Sad that laws have to be passed to stop vets from doing this barbaric procedure.

According to City The Kitty Advocate for Animals a lot of vets are crying "cyber bullying"now because of all the anti-declaw work.  The word is getting out.  The vets don't want to lose their gravy train.

Most of us are not bullying.  We just ask vets to please please stop.

They know what declawing involves because they DO it.  If they truly believed in declawing, they would defend it... instead they cry "I'm being cyber bullied."  It is a cop out... a way to take the focus off of declawing and make themselves victims.

The other day I posted a link about Canada's skewed policy on declawing of cats and other animals.  Where'd it go? Did I put it in the wrong thread?

What this link shows is the Canadian Medically Unnecessary Veterinary Surgeries.
Under declawing it states it is unnecessary and subject to discipline "on any animal other than a cat"
