Pet360 ripping us off?
« on: March 10, 2015, 04:51:07 PM »
I can't seem to find the thread I was looking for, or maybe it was somewhere else. Stella&Chewy's has been experiencing a major "shortage" of their Freeze dried product because their demand has exceeded their ability to supply, so they say.

Some on line stores seem to be taking advantage of this by charging outrageous prices.  I've had to order other products to replace the S&C while I wait for someone to have it.

I found some at Amazon, but they sent it to my old address, even though I DID make the changes for my new mailing address,  I omitted deleting the old address, and now it's in some forwarding black hole.

A tip from someone sent me to Pet360 where they seemed to have plenty and I ordered a 24 count of the .8 oz servings of the chicken and the duck/goose.

They charged my credit card for the full order, but sent me one tiny .8 oz serving of each.  The reason I thought I had been discussing this here is because I thought it had happened to someone else here, too.  But I guess it wasn't here.

I am really REALLY angry.

 :(

What do you need?  My pet food store might carry it, and I could ship it to you while you get things resolved.  I'm stopping there tomorrow to get more of the probiotic I give Pookie.

The same thing happened to me.  The corrected order/shipment was the same darn thing... one single serving.  They got it right the 3rd time.

BTW I know of another person that also received one serving...just a few months ago.  A year later, they are still making the same mistake over and over again.  Sad.

Thank you Lola!  I THOUGHT it was here, LOL! So maybe there is hope, though I am not thrilled with the dates.  They must have real idots working in the warehouse.

Pookie, I use the Chicken, the duck/goose and the turkey, in the .8 oz single serving size.  They usually come in 12 or 24 count cases on line.  I can't use the 12 oz bags, it goes stale too fast and Queen Eva won't eat it. I appreciate your thoughtfulness in looking for me

Currently it's been replaced by Feline Natural chicken and lamb formula, and it seems to be going okay so far, but I know the same thing will happen after the bag has been opened for a few days.

S&C meets all my criteria for a freeze dried raw, including the individual serving size bags. :)

I think a lot of Pet 360's problems lie in the fact that they've grown too fast. Any time a pet site becomes a business as rapidly as they have, you're going to have problems. When business does that, they have new things going in while they're not completely settling the last thing they started. You really have to have your ducks in a row for things to move that fast, and most businesses don't.

I generally don't do business with places until I've seen how they're going. Or I've done business with the place since they were small years ago, and they already know me and value my continual business enough to be the ones jumping through hoops to keep me happy instead of me trying to jump through hoops for them.

Taking over another already large company doesn't mean that things will remain at the former status quo.

I have been doing business with National Pet Pharmacy and PFD for years.  Pet360 took them over, Pet360 is not "new".  And now I'd read that they have also accqired onlynaturalpet.com.

It's as bad as the pet food take overs.  As soon as something small and good is taken over by something large and gross, it is ruined.

I was very disappointed to see that onlynaturalpet is now owned by Pet360. I've been talking to the small privately owned pet supply store in Cooperstown where I get my Rad Cat.  I may be getting the S&C from them in future also.  These places that cant' be bothered to fill orders properly are going to lose not only my business, but my endorsement.

I didn't mean that Pet360 was new. I meant their dealing with online sales at this level was new. They took over big businesses, and weren't prepared for it like so many places aren't. No matter what they say in the beginning, they ALWAYS change the old business, and no one is ready for what happens then. Something always goes wonky when you're combining separate entities.

If you look at their timeline, it's a short one: http://www.pet360.com/pet360history  Not even 20 years since 1997, but those are huge business jumps.

And then this happened: https://www.internetretailer.com/2014/09/17/petsmart-pays-handsome-sum-acquire-pet360

My pet food store doesn't carry the S&C cat, and for the dog they only had the larger sizes.  Sorry!   :(

Re: Pet360 ripping us off?--This store says in stock

It most likely is, because I saw it on the 4th page of results. Most of the time, people stop going that far in searches. I'd recommend calling the places and make sure they have in stock though.

I'll add on to this reply if I find more places:

And after 29 pages, I've run out of results.

Whoo hoo thanks for those Dee.  Problem is, I've got, supposedly sufficient stock coming from two different directions, the frustration is none of it is here yet.  The Amazon order (Gulf Coast Pet Supply) is in forwarding lala land, and you know what happened to my pet360 order.

Sent them a pretty angry e mail though and got this reply back just now:

Thank you for contacting Pet360. I would be more than happy to assist you. I do apologize for the shortage in that shipment. I have reported that issue to the warehouse manager to look into why that was done and to correct the problem. I will send out a new shipment of your entire order. Please allow 1-2 business days in transit. Again I do apologize for that inconvenience. If you have anymore questions or concerns feel free to contact us back.

So we shall see.  But I will keep these other places in mind.

I do have to be careful because I won't use it past the expire date, and I don't go through it quickly, I only use 3 of the 0.8 oz servings a week.

I hope they get it to you soon! If they keep on having shortages though, in the future, hopefully some on that list will have it. It's not often that someone goes digging as far as I do sometimes.

This morning I received the "replacement" from Pet360.  It contained only half the original order and of that half, half of THAT is EXPIRED PRODUCT.  the Expired product was shoved into an old S&C 12 count box upside down and taped shut.

The part of the product that was not expired (until July, still not a very good date) was stuffed into a plastic bag, mashed, in other words.

I sent my complaint not only to Pet360 (requesting a return lable to send it all back) but on to Stella&Chewy's with pictures.
