The article I posted also talked about how they treat the boaters, did you guys read that? I am disgusted at this.

Thanks for posting that, Shadow.

That was my first thought too -- how foods (like Tiki, too) aren't "mush", so there was some peace-of-mind with that, and the Fishermen, as far as food I have steered 2 people towards.

When I feed a cat I help take care of, at night, am able to pick the big chunks of fish out easily and mix the chicken-fish food in with the plain chicken she won't eat by itself -- Converted kibble & FF addict. Not even forti-flora ... catnip would work, so thankfully Tiki was a brand they could compromise with, just to get FF out of their house! (I was also worried about all the consumer reports posts still pouring in about Purina but couldn't get anyone to look at the page to see for themselves.  :(  )

The mainstream brands are mush. There isn't even any way to know what *else* is in their mystery mush   :o

Please rest assured, Weruva does not use “trash fish”, and Weruva does not utilize boats that engage in such behavior.

Our Fish: Weruva’s fish is essentially the direct opposite of “trash fish”

One of the things you have appreciated over the years about our food is the fact that we identify the details of the fish we use. We always identify whether we are using tuna, mackerel or salmon, and we even take it a step further and identify the species used as well as the cut from the fish. You may be familiar with our labels or have heard from the Weruva team or website—We don’t just use “tuna”, depending on the formula, we use the white meat, whole meat or the red meat from the tuna. We also get species specific and can tell you when a formula calls for skipjack, bonito and now kawakawa tuna.

PS
THANKS for the info, Shadow!!!!   HeadButt

PSS I still won't feed their fish flavors, or the non-fish flavors that contain fish.  I did, however, order a case of the Paw Lickin Chicken.  It wasn't a hit, but it has been a while... giving it another try.  Plus, I will explain to the felines that they NEED to support a company with ethics.

Thanks Shadow.  Since Tiki, while not the same company, uses the same factories (I am guessing but it stands to reason) I am hoping they are of the same mind and practice.  Not that I feed the fish flavors, but still, Tiki doe use a lot of fish.

Just guessing Lola.  I don't really know but it stands to reason I think. Petite Cuisine, Tiki, Weruva and Soulistic are all made in Thailand and they all have the same...general look, when you open the can.  I've used them all, and so can vouch that there are differences, so we know the formulas are specific to the brand, but I can't imagine there are that many pet food manufacturing plants in Thailand, really.

Just throwing this info out there....

Yes, you can absolutely trust Thailand as a place of manufacture, and we actually do make some of our dog food in a US based pet food facility. The majority of our dog food line as well as our entire cat food line are made in a human food facility in Thailand. While both facilities process our foods under great safety measures, our formulas produced in Thailand are manufactured under far greater scrutiny.
