Hey what a great idea for a thread! So glad you've bumped it. That vomiting thing is hilarious. I hope Jenkins got himself all cleaned up by now.
I used to have cats who did the wake up calls like you describe. It was Baby and Sissy and Bibbs and Ootay, but mostly Baby and Sissy would take turns trying to wake me. Baby would start by licking my eye lids. If that didn't work he would prick my cheek with his claws. After a while he would disappear, then Sissy would come stomping up the length of my body. She would walk up and down me, and usually Baby would come back for some more eyelid licking. My ex was fascinated by this process. He'd never lived with cats before and he was so astounded over the apparent concerted effort between the two cats.
Your kids must have been laughing their tushies off after making you get up at 2:30 am funny2
Well I have one too, but not very funny, at least not yet. How about a cat who takes advantage of a bit of chaos and eats at least four Vet's-Best tablets all at once. I stayed calm though inside I was freaking out. I read the bottle and it says "in case of accidental overdose contact a medical professional" so I called the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center. I keep that number taped to my wall, right next to my phone.
They had the product in their data base and the vet said because all the ingredients are safe and non toxic for cats she will be fine. She may have an upset tummy, she may vomit or have loose stool. Well it's been over an hour and she has had a watery meal (to help wash it all down) and she is still looking for food, so I guess her stomach is okay. This cat has a stomach of iron I think. We'll see what comes out the other end though....
She had a normal poop last night, but very smelly. I swear this cat has the digestion of a goat. funny2
Sounds like Roxy thought the vitamins were toys. Gosh they take years off us sometimes. Whoever said "pets make you live longer" never had pets I guess.
Yep those are 3 of my Furmonsters; the "Family", Loki, Pippen, & Teaka.

We imagined them all sitting in the hallway, discussing how they were going to pull one over on the 'rents...and score a second breakfast.
Bounced off a screen I had just put in the window. My fault, I know she's in the habit of jumping in that window, I should have warned her right? At least I didn't let her see me laugh.
funny2 funny2
Belle was very concerned for the Staffwoman the other day. Silly Staffwoman was drenching herself in water! :o cat2 :o
Belle waited breathlessly for the Staffwoman to emerge from her "rain closet".
Just to make sure the Staffwoman was okay, Belle reached out her paw and demanded confirmation of life.
She was relieved to receive chin and ear scritches in response. HeadButt
After all... a princess couldn't possibly survive without her Staffwoman.
Glad she didn't go through it! That was nice of you to not hurt her feelings, by laughing at her. You're funny.
These screens are very sturdy. One of the reasons I like this style of window (I call them crank out, I think they are called casement) is that the screens are on the inside, I don't have to worry about them pushing the screen out. Thanks for fixing my typo it was really bugging me, in fact I was going to ask you to fix it when I had more time.
My precious Red Boy was a circler. And he always did it in threes.
I'm sitting at my desk.
Lucy is sitting next to me.
We are eye to eye.
Lucy - MeOW! (she's yelling)
Me - Lunch will be in an hour.
Lucy - MeOW!
Me - You will have to be patient.
Lucy - Swooosh!
Me - Hey! Don't hit me!
Bumpurr1
Came home tonight. Emptied the stuff, from my pockets, onto the counter. I had a few coins. Arrows swatted one coin at a time to the floor. After one would stop rolling, he would move onto the next one. It was funnny. Kitty hockey.
It was probably more funny to him.... to watch ME have to go get the coins.
Came home from a 4 day trip last night.
Babee was ecstatic, as most dogs are. :-*
Teaka and Belle were actually the first ones to demand scritches & cuddles. HeadButt
Pippen tattled on everyone, telling me aaalllll about it. dramaqueen
Loki sulked, because he was not the first to get cuddles... violingif but he eventually came around.
For the rest of the night, I had an entourage. Any room I went to, they all followed me in. whatimiss
Teaka even tried to help me unpack my stinky clothes. stickouttongue
My red boy trying to figure out how to post something on PF.
Dinner time is in 15 minutes. I'm sitting at my computer. I have Arrows on one side, and Lucy on the other. Arrows is giving me little kisses...gently reminding me of the time. Lucy is "yelling" at me. I think she is saying... If you start fixing dinner NOW, we will be able to eat on time! If I continue to sit here, she will eventually hit me in the head. Talk about polar opposites! lol
I go into the kitchen tonight...
Me to hubby... "Why is Roxy eating at the counter?"
Hubby - "If the others would eat like humans, they could eat there too."
Me - "You know Roxy is a cat, right?"
The background of the story...
The cat bowls are lined up (usually on the floor Silly7), in the dining room. Whoever prepares the meal, also stands watch... to make sure the food stealers don't commit any crimes. Apparently tonight the food thieves stepped it up a notch, and hubby felt Roxy's food would be safer at the counter.
(Responding to the outside pics) OHHH, just look at them! How wonderful Lola! I don't think I knew Lola was a Red Girl! HeadButt
Thanks for the pics, I don't think they look fat but I know what you mean. Mazy cat and Jennie always look fat in pictures and neither of them are overweight. Mazy just has a very large udder (I know there is a real name for it but I can never think of it) and Jennie has a round middle probably from carrying too many litters.
A story I keep meaning to share here happened over a month ago now, but it was hilarious. We were out in the yard and Jennie caught a very fat mouse. There was a squeak and a commotion as she nabbed it and Queen Eva was on Jennie in an instant.
Jennie hunted to live for a long time so she doesn't mess around, that mouse was dead instantly, and I have no doubt Jennie planned to have herself a snack.
So, Jennie thought she was going to hunker down and eat it instead of having Queen Eva pouncing and trying to get at it and me hovering and trying to take it away. Jennie had a lock jaw grip on it and was growling and growling and growing. Queen Eva kept darting in hopping at Jennie's face or circling round and jumping on her back. Jennie must have been loosing her grip because she loosened her teeth for just a second to regrip but that was enough for me to get it away from her.
boy was she ticked off, LOL!
I think you owe her a mouse.
PS
It is a Sonic toothbrush. The head is fairly new. No, I am not going to throw it away. Silly7
Earlier today, I heard an odd noise coming from the bathroom. I go look. Arrows is chewing (pretty strongly) on my toothbrush!
My house is "cat proof" more than you can probably imagine. Who would have thought my toothbrush wouldn't be "safe!"
PS

Felix does that too, the growling. He is our watchcat
UPS man pounds on my door. Lucy (cat) runs to the door and growls. Interesting... kinda though the DOG would do that.
I'm not sure if it is obvious to others, but Jenkins is giving me the stink-eye. When he is in a cat tree, he is OFF LIMITS. Not only are we not to even consider touching him... viewing him is also highly frowned upon.
I should get a video of the "flip" side of him. When we are cooking or preparing any food, he sits very nicely in a stool pulled up to the counter... blinking and batting his eyes so much, I'm surprised he doesn't fall off.... hoping for a sample.
In this picture, he wants to know what I am doing... but from a safe distance. He is such a character!!
Three cats are on one of the cat trees. One on the top shelf. One on the second shelf. One on the third shelf. Hubby pets the cats, starting at the lowest shelf. Lucy is on the top shelf, and is a bit of a comedian. While hubby is petting the others, she is bopping him on top of the head.
I guess I have sat on my butt and in front of this computer long enough. Lola just turned off the light. For real. She reached up and flipped the wall light switch off.
Jenkins pushed a Corelle dish onto the floor.
I am proud of Jenkins, showing his talents! I've never broken a piece of corelle. Ever! And I am a DROPPER. And a BREAKER! I thought the stuff was unbreakable!
I've never broken a piece of corelle. Ever! And I am a DROPPER. And a BREAKER!
Do you have an old keyboard. Wonder if placing that next to the one you are using would suffice. Pretend you are using the old one until she sits on it, then start using the other one.
It appears that our male Ragdoll has mirror recognition. He just turned 9 months old and started looking in our bedroom mirror when he was 4 months of age (we got him at 14 weeks), looking this way and that way. As the weeks and months have gone by, he keeps looking and now he puts his paw up in front of the mirror and seems to be no longer confused. HE KNOWS HE'S LOOKING AT HIMSELF! :o
When I stick my head in the mirror with him, he's not surprised to see me there. Our other 2 don't care about the mirror at all--nor has any cat we've ever had. Have any of you experienced mirror recognition by your Cat or Kitten?
We've had 8 beautiful, intelligent and awesome Felines in our lives so far but never have I seen a cat (or dog---we used to breed and showSt. Bernards) with definite mirror recognition.
When I come home at lunch the house was unbearable so I quickly shut it up and turned the AC on. It cools down quickly. Before I left to go back to work I checked to make sure I could see all three cats. It took me a few minutes to find Queen Eva. In the sun. Doh1
I must have forgot who I was dealing with for a sec...I leaned in for a head bump kiss..which is something Mazy cat loves, but it was the wrong cat. It was Queen Eva, and with a quick one-two punch, she boxed my ears. It surprised me so much, and was so funny, I did it again just to see if she would do it again. Yep..she did it again. This time with just the tiniest hint of claw...
funny2 funny2 funny2 funny2
I was thinking the other day about you feeling badly about not being able to take them all out into the yard... having the porch to go out on is probably just as wonderful to them. They still get the fresh air and sun rays.
I was outside and saw my porch light flashing on and off. I didn't get to my camera on time. However... Arrows can reach the light switch from his seat! Never a dull moment around here.
Never stay signed into on your Amazon account... the cat will go shopping!
funny2
I see he was looking at footwear. Is he a fan of Puss in Boots? Silly7
Will they share the spot or not?
Was Queen Eva playing Hide and Seek with you? Silly7 funny2
Will they share the spot or not?
No, Queen Eva and Jennie do not share Spots.
Since they both checked out the spot... I meant "share" as in alternating use of the spot.
*sigh* I wish I could do that. She looks sooooo comfortable.
Awww....it's her bonding spot.
Human slackers tried to sleep in so the pride sent Izzi and Bizzi for the 5:30 wake up call as by 5:45 they might have starved to death.

HA HA HA!
All the cats have their little things they do, when they THINK it is time for breakfast. When all attempts fail, Arrows hits a huge metal decoration that hangs above the bed. GONG!!!!!!
Gotta love 'em...

Nobody else is interested in finding out "what the fox said".
Yesterday was mouse rodeo in the living room. SO was all excited about hitting the mother load - 17 mice accounted for thumbsup1 Take the leaf blower and clean out under the sofa. Mice will come out the other side in a hurry and Izzi will take them back to safety - one mouse at a time.
Lola - the link does not work for me
What link? :-\I may be in the wrong thread - thought you had a thread for photos. Who gave me an avatar?
Who gave me an avatar?
If you like it, I did. If you don't like it, DeeDee did it.
LMAO! Well the photo was made available anyway, wasn't it?Thank you!
Thank you!
The collar was ways too tight. ???
Given her age, I'm thinking that it fit properly when first put on, but maybe she ran off and kept growing to the point where it got too tight. Which is my naive way of hoping that whoever she belongs to isn't an oblivious or cruel @ss.
Here's a thought: maybe Blackie would keep Izzy from torturing the two aunties. Instead they could play with each other. ;D
Friends of the Shelter are short on cats.
Good news - Oscarina and her new human are doing well.
Sheitan is gorgeous but it has been a 4 to 1 vote. Friends of the Shelter are short on cats. So I will do the deed when the opportunity presents itself.
Izzi was only 2 1/2 pounds so litter box, food water, bed (the heated floor map from my office) in a big dog cage were sufficient for a day and two nights. Then SO added two dog kennels into a cat condo for several nights while she was running free during the day. Sheitan is probably around 8 pounds.
It will all work out!!!! It has to!!!
Please let me know if/when my prattling get annoying.
I woudn't wait too long, as she will be pregnant soon, if she is not already. :(I did not even think about that!
"Shaka" it is:) Three cans last night, she sat then cuddled with us on the porch. Soft, a little bit of salt/pepper on her back. She tried to hunt birds but those silly bells on her collar gave her away. Shiwed up for breakfast. Our three are mad with us! SO will get a dog crate out of the attic and she will spend the night in the garage. Warm, window, the comforts of home. He is off tomorrow and will take her to the pound. A couple of days quarantine, vet visit then the Friends will foster her and bring her to Petco/Petsmart for adoption. This is a hard one. She is a lap sitter unlike ours. But she will have no problem finding a good forever home.
Aunties hear a mouse fart even when they are sound asleep. There was a teaspoon left in a can for second breakfast for Izzi. It was not on her plate yet when ShadowCat showed up and ChaCha gave me the "and me" look. There are days I feel like short order cook is part of my job description.

Shaka worked the room at the shelter and will get her food. Friends of the Shelter placed 240 cats in 2017 and expect to have her at an adoption site next week end.

Help! Izzi has discovered how to operate lever door handles!!!
Help! Izzi has discovered how to operate lever door handles!!!
Lever handle door locks
Did the original builder of your house decide to use lever door handles? These handles are incredibly easy for an infant to open as they can be pulled down by bodyweight alone. Fortunately, there is a baby proof cover and lock designed just for lever handles.
Baby-proof lever handle covers work in a similar fashion to the ones above. The cover fits over the door handle and can be secured with adhesive tape. If you require a sturdier solution, screws are also included to fix the cover to the door. Be mindful that this will leave holes when the time comes that baby proofing is no longer required.
baby proof lever door lock
Lever Handle Lock
Styles: As pictured
Brand: KidCo
Pinch to open
Easy to install.
Fits standard lever knobs.
Difficult for baby to figure out.
The Door Monkey
The second product is known as the Door Monkey. Named after the āmonkey tailā that holds your door in place by securing it to the door frame. The Door Monkey does not completely seal the door. Instead, it leaves a small gap, allowing air to circulate between rooms.
The Door monkey can handle approximately 40 to 50 lbs (18 ā 22 kg) before it becomes loose or breaks. Unless your toddler is the incredible hulk, he should be unable to generate enough force to break this.
stop baby opening doors with door monkey
Door Lock and Pinch Guard
Styles: As pictured
Brand: Door Monkey
Works on any handle type.
Installs in seconds.
Doubles as a pinch guard.
Adjustable mount height.
Depending on the kind of knobs your stove/oven has, you may want to baby-proof them, too.
Good luck! Our Angel Lucky had that talent. If you have easy to operate sink handles... they will be next. Silly7
Miracles do happen! All four sets of whiskers were in our bed last night and made room for me. A few minutes of lots of purs and happy thoughts. This has never happened before. I want more of this.

Hope you got a repeat tonight!
SO made the mistake to get out of bed. Promptly his spot was occupied by Izzi who brought Bizzi along as usual. He gave her "the look" which she let Bizzi answer with one swoosh. Well, he brought coffee so I moved over a bit. After all who would disturb Izzi.
She is growing like a weed. Actually started filling out a bit and the long hair one of her ancestors gave her as legacy is coming in.
It is very tempting to the a beauty shop vacuums.
Try changing sheets when she is around:)
There's no such thing as truly "clean" sheets in a home with cats.
There's no such thing as truly "clean" sheets in a home with cats. funny2At least all our sheets are cat colored and a bit of fur does not hurt, does it?
What strikes me about this video is the condition of Jennie. This video is over 7 years old. Before I went to raw feeding. Jennie, while active, seems a bit flabby and I can see her pink triangle, that area that she used to keep licked bald on her abdomen. She is almost 8 years older now, but looks way better than she did then...she was on a canned diet, rotation of brands, I think I had been in the process of eliminating carrageenan, but not completed yet (the pink triangle went away, after the elimination of carrageenan, but the fur remained short, still chewed, until she was completely raw)
You have video? We must see!It is too large to email from my IPad - that takes SO.
Oh that fooffy tail!
Does it double as a duster? Silly7
Does it double as a duster? Silly7
Is this turning into my place:(
Izzi fought the monster and tried to bring the trophy home. She got a hold of the bow of my PJ pants and did her best to drag the beast out of the bathroom. She pulled and yanked as good as it gets. Darn jersey material snapped back every time she got traction. Standing on the pants did not help much. Bizzi was all poofed up and Izzi was chattering up a storm. She finally declared victory and stormed off. Morale of the story - laundry goes into the hamper.
I had my lunch sandwich laid out - cheddar and thinly sliced cucumber on one side and a glob of Ranch Dressing on the other. As I turned away for the blink of a second there was an additional item on the Ranch Dressing side. Bizzi spread nicely like a soft feather.
I decided not to continue my anticipated activity of biting whole heartedly into the joined two halves, grabbed a towel and Izzi and proceeded to Bizzi.
Well, a lot of women pay good money for hair conditioner. At least that one smelled appetizingly.
She had her first manicure last night aka nail trim. I am happy to report that all parties involved are well.
It is almost 2:00 pm and so far she munched down two cans of food and a teaspoon of kibble. Success!!!
She just told me in her fox chatter that I have been found guilty of neglecting my duties as can opener.
Neighbor was a bit miffed that I called and wanted to know when she would pick Ajax up. She is out and about with the kids ... . When? The husband was off and at home Doh1 I was not about to clean the aquarium again.
Can you feed them separately and see if things go a bit smoother?
Your pictures of Izzi have made me force my Lilly to allow me to brush her a little every day. I showed her pictures of Izzi, hoping that would help... showing her how pretty she could look. Lilly is a talker. Annnnnd she told me to unfriend you. funny2
I realllllly don't think/believe cats go potty outside the box to get even. She marked her territory. Looked at me and let go.
It is actually a wall sized built in. The few really precious items are on the other side:>) TwoStep actually gnawed the tip off of the tree with the nativity my father gave me:>) As long as Izzy is fine it is fine with us. She is just curious:>) I busted her behind the pull out drawers in my closet. Now that could have been a disaster had I pushed the drawer in as usual! So - with teenie cats life is not what it used to be.
Your built-in is reallllly pretty!
I keep forgetting that Izzy is young and small. She looks huge in pictures!
They are ganging up on me.
I plan to get another one of those blankets - if there is another one. ChaCha - breakfast and hop into the nest.
You may want to get a few. ;)
funny2
You coffee machine talks? Silly7. (That was the best I could come up with.)
Good ol' Mr Coffee and she makes three little chirping sounds when her morning chores of producing a pot of coffee are done. I hear it all the way to the bedroom and so do the furries.
Sooooooo your coffee pot DOES speak... just in a chirping language. Yeah, I need to go to bed and get some sleep... Silly7
I do not know what made me haul ShadowCat onto the bed last night. She gave me the evil eye and curled up on SO, purred up a storm. Go figure. She waddled to the edge of the bed and hopped off then the coffee machine said 5:00.
Some one got me with a claw in the cuticle of my left thumb. It is fat, red, hot and hurts like you know what. Day two. If hot tea bags, antibiotics and wishing it to go away does not work I will call for a vet appointment tomorrow. Yes, I refer to white coats in general as vets.
Yes, moms - 8:30 tomorrow as I wanted to give it one more day. That means I will be in and out in 30 and at work before anyone misses me. She will also have to look at the bite on my arm as it is not healed yet. Really sharp young local lady who cares and goes out of her way.
I don't know how old you are, but.... I would rather be a "sister."
Keep us posted!
Old enough to know better Hug1
I really do not understand what you are trying to say.
Your earlier post called her (and me) "Moms." She's saying, she'd rather be a "sister" than a "mom" as your earlier post, esp. since, depending on how old you are, making her your "mom" might put her in the "old enough to be in a nursing home" category.Ladies please accept my apologies. Nothing to fear here - 60 is approaching. Thumb actually looks and feels a lot better. SO is threatening to take tomorrow of for patient delivery.
10 pounds is an average-ish weight. Can you see a waistline?
SO put ShadowCat on the bed last night. To her place between the pillows she went. All three were in bed last night. A first!!!!
I did not realize king with three cats shrinks to twin Hug1
Those stairs are cool! What do they lead to?
All lined up.....
Is dinner ready?
Stereo here when I am between SO and ShadowCat at night. No, actually Dolby as I will do you best.
It is good to have friends when you and your furries need them.
Miss Izzy decorates the tree very well! I'm sorry about the idiot vet(s). :(
A 6 foot tree sitting on your kitchen island gave me a good chuckle! No offense...
Why?
Guarding the tree
All three were curled up around me last night:>)
You are a nice cat mom. If mine don't sleep at the foot of the bed... they are out!Nothing like a fish fart in the middle of the night:>)
All three were curled up around me last night:>)
Aww!And all four enjoyed it.
All three lined up this evening....
Out of 3 cats, none of them bother the Cheerios?
Jennie and Queen Eva are the only ones who get up there. Neither has ever bothered the cereal or cracker box. Silly7They may just wait for the right time.
Izzi and Bizzi are growing. She is eating better but still small portions and on her schedule.
SO is persistently pursuing his motorhome idea. He brought the first piece home yesterday - a harness for Izzi. Needless to say the first round was 1 to none in Izzi's court.
Our cats that I thought would be willing to wear a harness... nope. The ones I thought would fight me... all in.
I have no clue on how to create a UTube video. Please let me know if this works. "caterteinment by seltzer water"
Lola - I hope I did not overstep by adding it to her thread on CD. I just did not think about it.
It's all about the floof! HeadButt
Is it just me, or does anyone else think she blends in with the carpet?
It's all about the floof! HeadButtShe leaves enough floof behind for the rug to blend with her. We call that our fourth cat named Ghosty.
Is it just me, or does anyone else think she blends in with the carpet?
